Accuweather now offer minutecast, which is realtime weather and minute by minute foercast for your Street - great stuff. Go to their site pop in your postcode and select, then on the header above the days forecast select minutecast. I know this is a bit anal and I should get out more, but I love this type of thing.
Like it, great for planning my bike rides... bloody rain for the next 2 hours though means the bike is staying in the car mad
Oh get on with it, not cycling due to rain in the UK means you end up doing no cycling.

Yes, wet & windy is what I expect for winter, not snow. Rain I can put up with, but the wind just stops you; I get off road when it‘s really windy – not much fun getting blown about with traffic around you.

I generally agree and often ride in the rain but it's not so good during a lunch break where you have to come back into the office drowned.

Last year the polar vortex was fairly weak, this year it's quite strong. There's plenty of potential for us this year. Much better odds than last year.

I don't understand how they have the front to publish such drivel year in year out same old, even a broken watch is correct twice a day.

I have a horrible feeling that we are in for just more of the 2013/14 winter, lots of cold in the US meeting the warm air from the Gulf of Mexico sending lots of moist windy weather to us that stops the cool air coming down from the arctic and keeps the beast from the east away.

(other half assed theories are available)hehe

There's a big difference with last year, which is the lack of a blocking high around Alaska.

Does that mean we could get that warm moist air meets cold east air snow event?
