Melt-athon going on here in Wilmslow, suspect it might freeze hard tonight though which could be fun.

Dont think we are due any more snow looking at the forecasts.

Just to prove that we did get snow in the south-east.

You can just about see it gathered between the bricks on the driveway and on the grass by the tree thumbup

Didn't Brighton get wallopped during one of the recent big winters too?

Yes, but it was nothing compared to the forgotten winters of the mid/late 80's.
One day when I was cycling to work it was still -15C, the max one day was -7C, didn't climb above 0C for weeks at a time.
It was a very angry beast from the east indeed!

Made it!!!! There is MASSES of snow here. Didn't need the chains, but the last 10k was very touch and go.

Got upgraded to a B Max. They're not very economical - 1/4 tank to travel 110k...

Winter tyres rock in deep snow!!!

1/4 a tank to travel 110,000 miles? Doesn't sound too bad, possibly even good enough to offset the fact that it's a b-max...

Snake and Cat and Fiddle passes both still shut, must be a bit lonely in Buxton.

Not a full blow BFTE, but a NE wind (maybe short lived) is becoming more likely. Much better for us in the SE.

Excellent. Took a look at Les Saisies webcam earlier...superb snow dumping and there's more to come. Re' fuel consumption, this is quite normal for any car on winter tyres, on snow and at higher altitude.

Made it! Roads started out OK

Then got less OK, which resulted in much sideways action.

But we made it without any real dramas. Who needs snow chains and winter tyres tongue out

Trying to move back to Cambridge, which tends to get a little bit of snow even when London doesn't, but my job application efforts aren't going so well, clearly the Gods are against me getting any kind of snow hehe

Well done and nice car, but if you keep pushing your luck one day you'll wish you'd have had some.

Oh I know - if it had become too scary I'd have gone back into town and got some chains. Just didn't fancy having to go for all the trouble of putting them on when really it wasn't that bad.
