It's positively balmy here in west London, and the crocuses are starting to come out!

What?? Seriously?? FFS, I'm 50-60 miles up north in heart of the Pennines this weekend for a stag, and it's such a lovely bright clear day you could sunbathe. grumpy

I found some snow yesterday!

(Lyme Park, SE of Stockport)

Been a few very light flurries in Marsden, between Oldham and Huddersfield. Some lying snow up above the Woodhead Pass around the A6024

Snow on the hills around Buxton, nothing much but it's also because steely cold with the odd massive cloud hanging about.

Well, it started snowing Friday evening. For about 10 minutes, doing naff all. Got up Saturday morning to naff all.

Went out Saturday morning, nothing as I left. An hour later it was snowing again, not settling.

5 hours later, still snowing quite heavily, still not settling on the roads.

Left the house 10 minutes ago with clear roads to go the the Wife's parents.

Got 2 minutes down the road and it turned into a blizzard and started to settle; slid round the first junction. Got to the next lights and watched a Jeep slide out completely.

Turned around and came back to 100 yard visibility, just heard the first plow go past. Could be promising.

I think anywhere above 600ft could see some, over a 1000ft will get quite a bit.

What an awful day woke up to bright sunshine within 20 mins heavy snow then hail, rain the back to sunshine within 5 mins. Repeat this 12 times throughout the day along with thunder and lightning. The end of the day a constant drizzle which is the worst when its cold.

Well, we had about 11" or so over Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

It was ok after it stopped, though the roads have only really cleared today.

More snow Wednesday - looks like a decent one; 4"-8" in total.

Never known so many hailstorms as this winter. Pretty from a distance but a pain when they are on top of you. My dog hates them.
