A week ago it was heavy snow, then a force 11 storm (84mph gust here, blew a van off the road), then 7" of rain in 48 hours - and today, Spring has arrived in the NW Highlands. Funny old month, March:

Snowing again here. Settling nicely on the grass, but too warm to settle on the roads.

Time to close this thread (except for foreign contributions)
I have bought a 4x4 and my snow shovel is in the boot, so prepare for a heat wave. hehe

As a final word, perhaps. The Met Office are now suggesting that Climate change could give the UK far colder winters.

So, next year should be a doozy! yes

That's no good, the met office always get it wrong, prepare for a wet winter.frown

Edit to add I bet the met office has failed to programme myself getting a 4x4 into their models.

The north west is apparently due for some on higher ground overnight. Should make for an interesting trip to Aviemore what with 10 canoes on a trailer...

Recent? It snowed on my Birthday in April 1989 in London.

We're expecting snow overnight.

A couple of years back we were sledging first week in April having paddled on Whitby beach last week of March!

I'd heard that based on statistics the UK is more likely to get snow over Easter than on Christmas day!

We got 20cm or so of new powder last night. When checking the snow pack to understand how the avalanche risk is developing there is still over 1m+ which is nice! Not bad to put the skis on and have these views and then have fresh powder to ski down after work!

Junk science. It's just another scare story - climate change fantasists/fanatics using proxies and models and ignoring real data from the real world which contradicts their message of doom.

Woke up to a covering of very wet snow, and enormous blobs falling.
Nothing lower down. Just wet.
