Forecasts warning of gales and lots of rain tonight. Doesn't look good at all for June.

Puggit and co - any ideas about next winter yet? The reason I ask is because a work colleague of mine was saying today that someone has forecast the worst winter in a long, long time. Don't know how that can be said for certain yet. smile
Depends on El Nino... will have a better idea in about 2 months.

What he says ^^^

El Nino *will* influence it, but it's not possible to tell yet how. The last El Nino created the conditions for the winter of 2009/2010 - but it doesn't necessarily follow that the same will happen again. However, the likelihood of an extreme happening (warmer/wetter/colder/snowier/drier) are higher than normal.

It wasn't a great evening to be taking 20 scouts rafting. The off shore "breeze" made it quite entertaining. biggrin

Had to run for cover a few times from hail showers while out walking the dog over the last week.
Even had the heated seats back on.

This summer sucks so far. hehe

West coast of Scotland here, this has been by far the worst spring in my memory. Temps have seldom risen above 12, constant storms and high winds from the Atlantic and the winds have been very cold. Getting really sick of this now.

To be honest, in West Berkshire, the Spring has been pretty nice. Plenty of warm, sunny spells and not too much rain.
