Feel free to say hello if you're in the area.

I just saw they had the first snow in Bergen, so perhaps winter is getting closer (although we're due rain for a week so still a while to wait).

I saw no snow last winter or maybe a dusting so I'm hoping this year is better but the met office long range forecast is suggesting warmer than average the next month. It certainly has been so far.

I just want snow, I way just end up flying to bardufoss make a snowman and fly home.......
I would take as much notice of a Met Office forecast as a Daily Express weather headline. Neither of them have a clue. The Met forecasts are so embarrassingly wrong that they have actually tried to purge the internet sand 'improve' their forecasts with the benefit of hindsight!!!!!!

There does seem to be a 'consensus' that the first few weeks of December are looking seasonably cool/frosty at the moment, but not extremely cold - with some wintery stuff possible but not widespread or significant proper snow. Mind you, all this outlook stuff can swing around in 24hours.

Well done guys...this thread was started too early (as per the 2013/14 one).
As a direct result there won't be any snow in the UK.

You have yourselves to blame

6°C this morning when I got up at 05.30, not even cold. I spent yesterday doing chores outside with nothing heavier on top than a t-shirt.

I'm not expecting to be building a snowman this year, that's for sure.

Bloody hell. Frankfurt hasn't been above 5 degrees for the past 2 weeks so I'm hoping for some snow in the new year.

Freezing fog and wind, it was only around 1°c but felt like -10°.

And I spent the whole of Sunday building a workbench in my garage, my garage which doesn't have any doors yet. I swear my bone marrow froze.

Right, I'm hoping all you snow-experts can help me here.

I'm currently living on the south coast of France, near Toulon, and being the massive child that I am, I've decided that it'll be a really good idea to drive somewhere snowy before christmas. I've been looking at the snow maps here http://www.snow-forecast.com/maps/static/france/6/... and comparing them with weather forecasts, but I can't seem to get any concrete information about somewhere I can drive to where there's a decent chance of there being snow.

I'm not looking for blizzards, skiing, snowboarding or anything like that, just somewhere I can go with some friends for a day or two, chuck some snowballs at each other, run around in the snow and of course drive everywhere sideways. The closer it is to Toulon, the better, although I obviously realise I'm going to have to drive for some hours to get anywhere.

Any ideas?

The Alpes Maritimes are on your door step and ought to have a chance of at least a dusting.

Roads are scary, but the locals have helpfully marked the apexes of corners with bunches of flowers.

Certainly no sign of snow down here in Guernsey at the moment - fairly drab overcast day with a cold north easterly. However Saturday was absolutely glorious, probably one of the warmest November days we've had - genuinely shorts and t-shirt weather. Spent the day driving the SC with the roof off.

Sorry guys. I've ruined it for everyone.

I fitted the winter tyres to the subaru, I even went out of my way to move the MG out of the garage to do so.

Winter is over

Don't worry, I've balanced that by not fitting them.

Don't worry winter tyre chaps, I have you all covered. Brand new VXR8 GTS getting delivered this week on stock tyres guarantees snow this winter as it will be my new daily driver!
