The game terrine was outstanding lick

Snow is looking on the cards, but I doubt we'll see it before the 28th / 30th here in the South

Overnight charts continue to ramp up and 'improve' the outlook, however they are still beyond the range of trustworthiness. The general outlook is for high pressure to build up over Greenland, allowing cold air to plunge south, even bringing low pressure systems and heavy snow. I expect the usual watering down as we get closer to the event.

MetOffice continue to avoid forecasting the cold/snow - but that's not a surprise as it's outside of their standard 5 days. They are sensibly keeping their options open. I hear the BBC did mention the possibility this morning but no details.

I would suggest making sure things are in order and you're prepared to act IF the warnings firm up. Especially with the potential timing preventing any panic buying due to shops being closed! This isn't a call to act, it's a call to be prepared to act hehe

I'd recommend a grab bag full of fondant fancies, Speckled Hen and condoms.

Sounds like it's time to put €600, a bazooka, some tins of baked beans, and a pair of pants in my emergency go bag!

I think it's fair to say that right now is the time to panic buy. No doubt about it.

I'm going long on sprouts and pigs in blankets. When snowmaggedon arrives they'll be one of the strong bartering commodities.

hehe

I was thinking more along the lines of, for example, if you manage an office in Windsor then make sure your policies on working during snowy days are up to date.

If you have a wood fire, make sure you have enough wood for a couple of weeks (and kindling!)

No need to panic yet, we don't know what's going to happen - but we do know the odds of a cold period just after Xmas are rising.

I did just check the toilet paper supplies - seems we have about 20 rolls in the house!)

Trouble is brewing.

I took Puggit's and Schmalex's specific advice and went to Waitrose to start panic buying.

Well, I was late to the party, I can tell you. Have a look at this: Waitrose in Harrogate a few minutes ago.

Knowing that Puggit & Schmalex have said we should all start stockpiling essentials, looting them if necessary, I plunged in without remorse. It is quite surprising just how vicious the little old blue rinse grannies can be.

I've targeted sprouts and pigs in blankets as my snowmageddon trading commodities - I wasn't the only one. I had to physically batter several old ladies and a couple of younger pregnant women who accidentally got caught up in the cross fire. I have to admit I got a bit carried away. You simply can't help it once it goes off in the adult diaper aisle.

One old biddy in particular didn't want to let go of her absorbant pads, and I don't know why I just simply had to have them, but before I knew it I was roaring and stepping on her neck to get to the Tena Ladies. Weird how things go. Anyway, I'm happy that I've diversified my stores of bartering items so I'm happy. Plus I'll be king of the biddies once we're all neck deep in snow and octogenarian piss soaked clothing. A quick bit of Snow FX price fixing means that one Tena Lady will equal 14lbs of red meat next week.

Glad I wrote these bits - the inevitable climb down is starting with the 6am charts - waiting for more details! frown

Well done guys...this thread was started too early (as per the 2013/14 one).
As a direct result there won't be any snow in the UK.

You have yourselves to blame

More charts are needed!

Are the computers toying with us again? Methinks they are but a trinket, bauble or frippery to fill the floors of some dark dungeon'd building somewhere.
