I don't want to join the Hunter Crew and only have a budget of around £60.
Needed the for muddy days down the yard and walking the dog across fields in winter months.
Slightly over my budget but I like the entry level Barbour model https://www.outdoorandcountry.co.uk/Mens-Barbour-C...

Not sure my budget will streach to a pair of Aigle or Le Chameaus

Go to High Street shoe shop.

Choose between black or green.

Hand over around £15.

Job done.

Seconded.

My £10 pair from Brantano have seen 2 years service and are still going strong.

All depends what type of dog you've got and whether you were born on a weekday or not.

Buy em too big so that there's plenty of room for nice thick socks.

Hunters are very comfortable and better for walking in than most, but if you want hard wearing go for Argyll

Got to be. FFS.

On the off chance that it's not, my last method for choosing wellies involved going to Scats, and whilst in there deciding I needed a new pair of wellies. A farm worker came in, so, I figured that he's spending his whole day in his, so they must be OK, and bought those. Didn't come to anywhere near 60 quid. I suppose you could use the same sort of method at a pony club gymkhana and come away with a different answer though.

Farmers buy cheap wellies as they go through them so quickly.

My Le Chameaus are several years old now & still in great condition, they are also far comfier than the cheap Dunlops they replaced wink

Yeah but a Frenchie has touched them. Not worth the premium.
OP save up and get a pair made to order by John Lobb bootmakers, no French sweat on them. Or just buy a pair of £50 wellies. My plan of attack would be to try them, see if they fit and buy them if they do. Post on here if you need any more help though.

They're great at walking (running?) backwards though wink
Think they only cost me £50.00, was a few years ago as I said & they aren't neoprene lined or anything fancy.

Muckboots from a tack shop or country store.

Warm, comfortable, easy to take off, not for show-offs.

When we've talked to him he's going to pull the trigger on some wellies.
