"Law enforcement incidentsReborn dolls look so real they have been mistaken for real babies. In July 2008, police in Queensland, Australia smashed a car window to rescue what seemed like an unconscious baby only to find it was a reborn doll. The police stated that the doll was "incredibly lifelike" and that bystanders who thought a baby was dying were frightened by the incident.[31] A similar incident was reported in the United States, in which police broke the window of a Hummer to save a baby that turned out to be a reborn doll.[13]
In 2009 reborners uncovered a blogging hoax in which a woman–described by ABC News as an "anti-abortion blogger"–claimed she was pregnant with a terminally ill child. She opened a P.O. box in order to receive gifts, money, and prayers. The hoax was uncovered when reborners reading the blog realized that the pictures of the baby posted on the blog were actually a reborn doll that they recognized through the familiar reborn sculpture.[32]"

On the subject of chainsaws, a friend of mine was in A&E the other week. There was a man there who was a chainsaw salesman. Apparently before you sell one you start it up to show it works. He started it, then it slipped from his hand. Instinctively he went to grab it before it hit the ground. Apparently it took most of the night to reattach all the tendons.
