I'd like to think we're all intelligent people on here and know exactly what we're talking about here. To reiterate: this isn't anything to do with racism, yes, the vast majority of people in Bradford are British. Being born here makes you British but in every other way people there seem to be anything but.

Besides, again, how can it really be a good thing when a city is populated by such a high percentage of any ethnic 'minority'? Can anyone give me one good reason as to why Bradford and its inhabitants are a role model to us all?
Its demographic make-up is down to historical reasons. And, to an extent, it's irrelevant. It's a dump. It needs changing. The fact that it has a high number of Asians living there is as pertinent as saying Hull's a dump because it has a high number of fishermen living there.

I've got friends upping sticks and moving away now, and myself and the OH are next. We live in a lovely semi-rural location, great pubs, nice walks etc, but we know what's coming. Our place is lovely and it's a shame, but we are currently getting some work done and next target is to be out and moved away. Target location - as far away from a big town as possible.
Don't go to Malham, word has got out in the community it's the place to be on a weekend innit so they're out there ruining that too.
Near to Bradford is Batley and Dewsbury, they're almost as bad now.

To prove Bradford is a sthole here is the road out of it heading North:

Coming up so quickly after the Asian sex abuse scandal in Rotherham is some interesting viewing on Ch4 tomorrow night at 11pm:
"Pakistan's Hidden Shame.

It is estimated that more than four million youngsters across Pakistan are forced to work from an early age due to poverty, and, of these, up to one-and-a-half million live on the streets. This documentary explores the dark underbelly of the north-western city of Peshawar, where it is thought nine out of 10 street children have been sexually abused."

Mmmm, lovely.

Absolute rubbish!! You lived there for 4 years and cannot see this?

It is purely down to the Asian 'minority' as to why Bradford is a dump. (And no, not racist)

But the centre itself could be like another other city. There is nothing amazing about it architecturally but thankfully it lacks the 60s brutalist architecture which plagues other places I've visited.
It's a dump because people have been fleeing the place- and what is left behind clearly isn't attracting investment.

I agree completely. FWIW I think it's harder to immigrate now (although I've still seen quite a few come over as students and then disappear). However there are still a large number who need a good kick up the backside.

As Leicesterdave says, different cultures in different countries is great. Personally this forced and quite frankly unregulated multiculturalism is about as appealing as stabbing my testicles with a fork. If I wanted to go to Pakistan I would, but I don't, and I don't want Bradistan on my doorstep.
Same here.
Just look at Sweden for examples of how well immigration works...

It was 4 weeks.

It's got fk all to do with the Asian minority. There are plenty of slum towns / slum cities that are mainly white or whatever.

It's down to an idle under-educated low aspiration chav subculture that leeches on benefits.

One of my first job was in a small Engineering place in Rotterdam. We used to deal with Crofts from Bradford who send us generators.

I have been to Bradford, the missus booked a hotel for a few days.>smile

The National Medium Museum was interesting we spend there most of the day.

Otherwise a bit of a dump lots off young Asian men in cars hanging around at night.

Not a place I would go again.I am not sure if multiculturalism does work.I have seen the changes in my home town of Rotterdam where I grew up the blacks moved in and the whites moved out.

So that's clear then. You're definitely not a racist.

The fact that it's dump? Not entirely. But I still think challenge anyone to relocate in Bradford, for say 2 years, and loving it. Forget the shops, people create an atmosphere and a place you'd want to live in.

Why would you start a family there, I mean can you imagine? The white kid would have to integrate into the classroom! My other half went to school in a predominantly asian area in Sheffield. She was as miserable as hell there as all her 'friends' would not be able to meet up at the weekend as she was too westernised.... I mean how the hell is that integrating?

It's not and it saddens me beyond belief. What is even worse is that my view (maybe ours) is classed as racist.

Fair one. Do you and your family want a medal for coming to this country without a penny?

One little question.. Why did they choose here?

Honestly I am just interested.

I'd rate people like him who have come from nothing over others who think the world owes them a favour simply for being born in a particular country, with a particular pantone colour, and with male genitalia.
