I worked in Bradford for two years and I concur, it's a dump. I couldn't wait to get on the 606 out of there.

I quite like it boxedin

I used to drive through Bradford once a week to get to Keighley when I lived on the other side of the hills. Architecture = good. People = good. Curry = good.

I broke down once, and 3 guys helped me get off the road and out of the way. I probably shouldnt have to say what colour their skin was, but seeing as we've got some 'I'm not racist, buts...' on here, they were brown skinned. I didnt ask to see their passports though, so I'm not sure where they hailed from. It wasnt really that important to me.

It is a dump, and there's reasons for that. Some are economic, some are bad decision by the local council, some are people thinking that's the best they can do and cant see anything past that. But that's what it is, and no amount of Starbucks coming in will make a difference to it any time soon, it needs bigger investment and some changes at the top

Do you mind areas being populated by non indigenous people?
Place like Southall and brick lane?
I don't really get this hang up. You're now saying that it isn't because Bradford is a sthole, and the occupants being Asian doesn't make it a st hole, you just resent 20% of a town being brown (lets not forget that a fair amount of them must be British born and before you start trying to define indigenous narrowly - then none of us are really indigenous as our heritage is ROman/Viking/whatever else in the large part)
Or is it just that the number of a particular skin colour visiting a town centre at any one time should be controlled? Or what?

It is, but compared to Ravensclife, Holme Wood & Cantabury its a rather pleasant place. Much improved since the high rise flats were taken down.

All of the above are like 5 star holiday camps compared to Manningham, which was once upon a time one of the wealthiest places on the planet.

Whilst large parts of Bradford which are dumps. There are areas of Leeds which are every bit as bad.

Show your working for this comment? How many people did you interview, or which study are you quoting?

Or should we draw a certain assumption from your use of the time-honoured phrase "a lot of them"?

Why does everything need a study? Can opinions not be made by what people see on a daily basis?

That's more real life than any 'study'.

In every town and city up and down the country there are plenty of places that i would describe as utter toilets.

Not sure why bradford is singled out, when places like runcorn or wolverhampton are also complete dives.

When you make sweeping and quite serious statements then yeah. Backing them up is kind of needed.

Here we go. No such thing as indigenous.

That it's not, I can quite happily form my own opinion of whether somewhere is a sthole without the aid of a study.

Driving along... "ooh, this looks like a bit of a sthole". Easy.

Not good ones, no.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_memory_biases

That's a long list. What you remember has essentially nothing to do with real life, as evidenced by the people on here convinced a <30% asian city is >80% asian.

We fund studies precisely because they are designed to eliminate biases. So yes, they take precendence.

The city centre of Bradford is alright, rest is a dump. Race is irrelevant really, unless you're from Israel of course then definitely don't go there because they don't like your kind you bunch of war mongerers.

The statement was about a lot of them being anti western. An objective statement.

A city being a sthole is subjective so is based on opinion and doesn't need a study.

https://www.google.co.uk/#q=number+of+brits+fighti...

at a glance between 250 and 500 now to me that would be a lot to have to face on my own

and that's just the ones who have got up off their backsides and gone to fight I would have thought you could treble if not quadruple that number for people who share their sentiments
