Bradford areas such as Manningham, Little Horton etc is an absolute crime ridden pit, its filthy, its almost a police no go area,
This must be highly inconvenient for the police, given that their headquarters is right in the middle of Manningham.

I haven't been there for 4-5 years, didn't seem that bad at the time. May give it a revisit if this thread is true laugh

Yes, they wear blinkers with some of society.

Salts is in Saltaire, not Bradford. I know it has a BD18 postcode, but BD postcodes run deep into the countryside.
And confusingly are intercepted by LS postcodes.

Skipton - BD (though not in Bradford council)
Ilkley - LS (in Bradford council)
Then you have further weirdness with Settle havign a Bradford postcode and Clapham, just down the road having a Lancaster postcode - that one's a real insult, a postcode from the (most) wrong county!

I have never been, but after spending time on this thread I am keen to see what the fuss is all about. I strongly suspect those claiming it is a cesspool or sthole have never actually been to any truly horrendous parts of the world and have come to that conclusion using picturesque leafy villages as comparison.

Just had a look and it is only 40 miles away. Something to do when I find myself at a loose end over the next 2 weeks. thumbup

The Pakistani community have got their own "town" within a town, the schools are often 99% Asian, there is little or no integration, or any desire to integrate.
Im no racist but that makes my blood boil.

They are quite happy to call themselves British, Obviously dont want to be British at all.

If you use the Wail definition, yes.

If you use commonsense, no.
Of course... the common defense of those wishing to say racist things - "PC gone mad" etc...

This thread really does have some clearly racist people on it. Not everyone, but there certainly are some. It really doesn't bother me anymore unless people are actually racist toward me... but then they will probably say the same thing in their defense.

My current commute takes me through the leafy Manchester suburbs of Blackley, Harpurhey, Moston, Beswick, and Clayton. I don't think they're massively different to Bradford tbh.

It's all very well saying they don't want to integrate. But then again white people don't seem to keen to live in these areas either. I'd imagine it's that both sides want little to do with each other and that's the way they all like it.

I live near New Malden, lots of South Koreans, the place isn't a dump, but there are koren shops and English shops. I doubt there is much crossover in custom if either party can help it.

White people are racist... seriously, they are... you know, because SOME are, they must ALL be...

That makes about as much sense as saying Pakistani's (or insert race/religion of choice here) don't want to integrate because there are pockets of intolerant and sometimes extremist Pakistanis around.

I'm an Indian Hindu and have been to plenty of white areas where people clearly don't wish to integrate with 'my kind'... but I use common sense to realise that there are ALWAYS those few, and those few are not representative of the good many who wish to live peacefully with each other.

I dislike unpleasant people, regardless of colour. What some of you are describing are undesirable characteristics, and pointing out that you have observed them in a certain demographic.

I wonder how I would be treated if I took a load of my (very integrated) family and friends to a West Ham game at home? Oh you intolerant British... rolleyes

I'm just glad that I have enough common sense to know that those few of you that have certain views are in the minority, and shall enjoy living in one of the most multicultural places in the western world smile

Awaits the "PC has gone mad" brigade to start their crap...

I really haven't seen any racism. Clearly the modern meaning of a racist is anyone who dares to mention an ethnic minority.

I do find it disgusting, however, that people get branded a racist for sticking up for their own country.

Define "own country"? I'm curious.

PC has gone mad, extremely mad...Nearly as mad as immigration in this country.

This is not a minority view either. In fact I don't know anyone that likes our country becoming so 'multi cultural'.

(Hope none of my post offends you)

The country I was born in, grew up in. Just like generations of my family.

Wasn't that hard to figure out now was it.

I do. Long may it continue.

I'm not offended by your post. As a white male (albeit with some old Jewish and Romani blood) I'm just saddened by it.

So what's your views on this then.

I used to work with a Jewish fella. Pretty quiet but he was a nice enough bloke. He did a slightly different roll to me and his extra travel time meant he started and finished later.

During winter he had to leave early on a Friday so he was home before dark. Along with quite a lot of other days during the year he couldn't work due to his religion. It was a fair few years ago now but I think if I remember correctly it worked out that he had more days off than his holiday entitlement.

So while he was off or finishing early 6 months of the year another bloke and myself had to do his job for him because the office had to have cover during his 'normal working hours'

Why the feck should someone else's religion effect my life. When in Rome n all that eh !

Just to point out im not racist I get just as p1ssed off with people going for a smoke every hour at work - I smoke and I don't do it.

I presume it must be the same for people who work with others who have to go and prey at certain times of the day or whatever.
