El Vino's on Fleet Street in London has long been a famous watering hole for lawyers and the press. It also appears to have featured on a Led Zeppelin album cover,
Anyway this is an "R.I.P" because Sir David Mitchell, former proprietor of El Vino's, has gone to that great wine bar in the sky.

"The culture of El Vino dictated that male drinkers must wear ties and women skirts. When a celebrated transvestite arrived in a trouser suit and blouse, the manager ruled: “If it’s a man, it’s not wearing a tie. If it’s a woman, it’s not wearing a skirt. She’ll have to go.”
