I think you can say 5 years for that. It's got to be at least 9 since I used one and the only time I can see me doing so now is when I finally get round to transferring it all to a Memory Stick, which, incidentally, I think will have a much longer predicted life expectancy this week than they did last...TV? I have never watched much telly, the wife and daughters do, or did, now they watch Netflix and other services on tablets or computers, I cancelled sky, no one noticed, threw the box out, no one noticed, now the only person that uses a TV in our house is me.

VCR's, Cassette music, Minidiscs...ironically vinyl will probably outlast them as it's now trendy.
Mobile phone's with batteries that last two weeks too...oh how I miss you Nokia. Actually, that's a point, they might never have used an indestructible Nokia instead of their rather fragile touch screen Samsung!
