Obviously one for the guys here but I was on hols recently and a few of reps were predicatbly good at dancing and I am predicatably bad. I wondered if anyone had actually had some lessons to avoid the horrific (unless you're battered!) 'Dad dancing'? It doesn't look that hard?

I was dragged kicking & screaming to Jive lessons by my wife a few years ago...it was actually quite fun and at least at family parties, weddings, etc we can do a turn.

Brownie points from Mrs D as well.

Yes.

Before we got married, the wife and I did a good 6 months of lessons so we could put on a show for our first dance.

We learnt to waltz, jive, rock n roll, salsa etc

Was great fun, but 5-odd years later I've lost all my moves and returned to dad dancing supreme

Did some ballroom classes about seven years ago. Hated every second and still can't dance, but was definitely worth it.

Refuse to dance.

Sorted.

Lots of famous people didn't dance. Adolf Hitler, for one...smile

It's quite simple. When at a wedding or other event where the ladies take to the floor to jig around their handbags, you attach yourself to the bar via your elbow and stand there, clutching a pint, looking really really angry and/or sullen.
Chicks dig that.

No, I never have. I had about three days back 1980something where I was ok wobbling around in a crappy nightclub, but have no confidence these days. It would be nice to be able to have that skill and subsequent lack of self consciousness.

I don't want to dance. Lessons wouldn't change that.

I'd just be better at something I didn't want to do.

I never understood why ANYONE wanted to dance. Utterly futile pastime.

yes we rock n roll jive, me and the wife and have been learning ballroom and latin for a couple of years, its good fun, social and live music.

we originally learned to do a wedding dance but liked it and have stuck at it.

10 on the man rating too, believe me.

Because wake up in many strange beds over the years. Sometimes with actual nice ladies.

I assume to attract the attention of potential mates.

To be honest I just want leaving in peace.

I'm useless at dancing but he mother in law owns a ballet school hence the wife is an awesome dancer and loves to take the piss. I have considered taking up lessons as I'd like to be more confident at it. I'm also st at singing so could do with some help there.

As a single male I used to download my awesome dancing techniques like Neo from the Matrix. All I needed was 6-10 pints and I would be transformed into a dancing God! Too much and I'd be clinging to the nearest bar or other furniture to keep my balance.

Well, I did do a bit of ballroom dancing at uni.

But I'm saving this for when I get to say, "Look, son, your dad's still got it." http://youtu.be/qriH-8yeqcE?t=1m10s

I think I'd like to be able to dance reasonably well, just enough to not look st at parties and anywhere there is dancing. I don't wasn't to be doing Salsa etc. which is a bit much, IMO, for most places.
