My wife likes watching a programme about people going to stay in each others guest houses.One down to earth Scottish guy accused a woman of trying to act too posh.
The woman replied 'I am not posh,I am from Manchester'.
I thought her reply said it all really and voiced my thoughts to the other half,of course she said I was talking rubbish.
We live in the Manchester area but this is not the issue at all,I hate people putting on an act and to me her comment proved the other guy right.

I really don't see the issue here. Is it the implication (from a Mancunian) that people from Manchester can't be posh? Or was it that she was posh and in denial?

This lady's idea of posh is probably Hyacinth Bucket; class is only an issue if you think about it that way. Even the Queen needs to go to the toilet.

That's not what posh is. If you didn't have a reverse chip on your shoukder, you'd be able to see that. You've described bling, or nuveau riche, not posh.
