No,religious pyramids are for the Egyptians smile

A former boss of mine was a JW,otherwise a completely normal & sane bloke, but didnt preach or do anything religion-y, but I did enjoy wearing T shirts with these to work

all the door -knocking evangelist types of whatever favour are self funded or funded wirth help from their home congregation ... much as Catholic and Anglican missionaries of the C19th were and much as many of not door knocking evangelising church based volunteer projects across the full range of religions and sects within religions

Mormons are the worst. Totally mentally ill bds.I mean Joseph Smith, woken by angels and guided to buried golden plates on a hill in `upstate New York`. He was the only person that saw them, and as they were written in Egyptian he had to wear special home made specs to `translate` the word of God. fking lunatics.

Oh man, six and a half dozen. Islam is just as retarded. Plagiarism at it`s finest.

2014 and most of the world still believe in a `God`. FFS, what about all the other `Gods` that no one cares about now? Odin, and Thor and Zeus etc etc. They must be in the God job centre.

I`ll tell you the hardest part of religion for me to accept.

The part that intelligent people buy into it. I`m not entirely sure if they really know it`s Bullst or whether they genuinely believe some/all of it. That, I cannot fathom out. In fact, I think it was Einstein that said "For as long as people are afraid of death they will always believe in some sort of God or religion". Not sure of the exact wording but being a public forum no doubt someone will correct me and give me a right good e ticking off.
Anyway, religious loonies. fk em.

I like it when the Jehovahs send around the young fitties. I engage them in polite conversation whilst staring at their breasts.

I was at home early one evening ironing a shirt in the spare bedroom so bare chested.

Someone knocks the door which is unusual as we have a long drive and the gates are normally shut.

I open the upstairs window and see an old dear at the door so open the window.

Me - Hello?
OL - Do you know that it's Christian Aid week? (petulantly)
Me - No, no I didn't.
OL - Stares at me silently
Me - Thinks oh fk she expects more
Me - Thinks what shall I say?
Me - I'm naked
OL - frowns and stomps off

Why did she bother?

Good people can be religious. The problem is when they want to impress their views on others. That is rank. Those type assume arrogantly that strangers need saving.
You've met my Dad then? Told my kids that we'd most likely all be going to Hell.

Well, actually as a favour to my Mum to keep the peace, we went to a service he did somewhere in Holyhead, where he explained to the congregation exactly what would and what wouldn't find us in heaven.

Over lunch his youngest grand daughter pipes up "So Granddad, you are going to be pretty lonely in Heaven then, because the rest of us are probably going to Hell. Do you think that's fair then?"

Poor bloke. You have to feel for him. She's 18 and vicious if she feels something is unfair.

Few years ago, I had a bloke working for me doing some groundworks, his wife had been murdered (by his brother IIRC) and he turned to drink, got converted by JW used to bang on about the 144,000 going to heaven a lot, quite sad really.

Not sure how often he went door knocking though, he was 6'6" and built like a brick outhouse and was never seen in anything other than a white vest, combats and rigger boots!

There are lots of vulnerable people out there who need a 'crutch'. Religion exploits this, but, if that religion actually supplies much-needed support to those who really, really need it, then who am I to criticise?

This - and the same ethos applies to all religions - especially Scientology (although could we all be descendants of Aliens??)

Agree 100% & to add - how weak minded / naive / inherently stupid, must individuals be to become radicalised by on-line preachers!? Backward people have backward beliefs

Have to say this is exactly my take on religion.

Just leave me out of it, I've had gates installed and never hear from them now!

A friend of mine, had to abort her unborn child at 20 weeks on doctors orders. This almost destroyed her and her husband. The funeral came and went, nothing improved. This prompted her give religion a whirl.

She has gained comfort from this and has helped a lot. She's not holier than thou, doesn't preach about it or shove it down your throat.

It does have its uses for some people.

(although not me).

Had one come to the door when at the wifes aunts house on Anglessey and his wife was a proper minter, stood there in a summery dress with a fantastic chest, the sun shining through the dress, I nearly signed up there and then !

The bd then handed me a leaflet showing a bloke with his head in his hands in front of a computer with some pixellated porn and his wife stomping out, telling me about the evils of internet porn and how I must repent, basically calling me a wker ! I kept them talking and had a good old perv at the Milf he had with him, seriously, she was stunning.

My wife went past with a grin after they went and said "I saw you".

Had some the other week, I just said I was a committed atheist and off they went, they always have some mortally embarrassed teenagers with them, bad enough being a teenager without having to put up with that rubbish and getting dragged round in your Sunday best.

I always feel like a JW when going to a wedding or Christening at the weekend, you see a family all suited and in posh gear, thats the first assumption.

About 10 years ago the wifes dad had a breakdown and went off the rails a bit and got sucked in to this Christian religious group who were clearly using his low mental state to worm their way into his life.

In the early days he would come round and try and spout stuff to us about how great it was and he scared the eldest; who would have been 10 or 11 at the time, as when were out of earshot he would whisper to her telling her great it all was and how she should come to church with him. In the end he got sort of romantically involved with the most hiddeous of women who was well into this Church; to the point that I refused to be home when she was round, I would go out for a walk with the dog.

In the end he married her however I don't really think it was a relationship of love at all as she just used him to pay for every aspect of her and her grandsons life. Apart from very recently when she punched him and threatened to stab him; very Christian of her, and he got back in touch and we really thought he was going to leave her and make an effort to repair bridges with his family, we have hardly had any contact with him for about 9 years.

He has got back with the witch and it has gone back to how it was, the sad thing is my eldest and him had a fantasticaly close relationship before he got sucked in and the 15 year old hardly remembers him and as far as the wife is concerned the only dad that she has is my dad.
