Are you sure, he could have gone for the 12" instead of the 6" and that was why the budget was blown scratchchinyikes

i'll have spent about 2.5x budget once wrapped. postage will be horrific but i may have a solution for that now.

we have a £10 budget for our work secret santa as well. i spent £15 on my victim for that, plus same again in postage frown

however i may just have found my own xmas present this evening which means a trip to the bank tomorrow to enquire about a loan, so evidently i have issues setting and maintaining budgets biggrin

Ordered something for my victim. Didn't have much to go on so had to do some trawling. Including postage I'll be looking at double the budget. Would have spent more but had to shell out £90 for a speed awareness course. Robbing barstewards!

I went over, just not quite as far as others...

Has anyone actually stuck to the budget?

I'd say over the last 3 PHSS we've done, maybe 25% have managed to stick to the budget.

Those posting international tend to send over £10 just in postage, hence why we decided to keep international senders/receivers in their own group. It keeps things fair.

I seem to spend more each year... wobble

Not at all.

It is worked on the basis of:

UK > Abroad > UK > Abroad > UK > Abroad

and then back to the start.

This way, UK SS'ers get to receive something 'exotic' from abroad but they send something abroad in return.

It is basically to ensure people sending international (who will obviously pay more for postage) will at least receive something from abroad, making it fairer.

Last year i stupidly ticked the NSFW allowed box, i received, in a shoebox, a VHS wrapped in Hello Kitty wrap & inside some hardcore homo porn from what looks like the 80's/early 90's!

Thankfully in my hungover state i had just decided to open it up as soon as i woke up, thankfully not in front of my family!

is there a record for the most spent on SS delivery?

if i discount the cost of the return flight to the UK [i was going anyway] but take petrol at 1.30/litre and, say, 25mpg [z3m coupe] then delivering my SS gift last year cost me a whopping 92 quid!

it was lots of fun though driving
