Couple of months back took our motorhome down to the Caravan club's site at Broadway in the Cotswolds, and there on display in a huge alarmed glass cabinet they had what is reputed to be the worlds oldest caravan.:-

Thanks for link, The Wanderer is the oldest caravan of that there is no doubt, remarkable high quality museum piece. The Eccles, my caravan make and model is the first proper car drawn touring caravan, started to be manufactured in 1919. Mine is one of the last original style dubbed 'cottage on wheels' built 1929. The following year Eccles developed the tourer with rudimentary aero-styling. Last show of the season I met the Wisbeach classic caravan club. Their show stand was set up as an avenue with vans covering all decades from 1950 -1980, each van detailed correctly to era. Sorry everybody else

It isn't as much of a piss take as it sounds (the slide show bit is. It's actually in PowerPoint).The sad thing is, it is no effort at all but for some bizarre reason I get enjoyment out of it.
I get a warm feeling when I see nicely fixed tiles and pissed off with DIY bodges.
The floor tiles at Beijing airport piss me off so much that I try avoiding traveling through it. They were thrown down for the Olympics and they are shame to the Chinese nation.
I must add I'm not involved in tiles at all but the interest started as a child when a sexy blonde tile shop assistant gave me a pile of tile brochures.
Sadly, monolithic floors, laminate and splash panels seem to have gained popularity over tiles but they just don't do it for me. My wife is dead against tiles for our next shower wanting composite panels as there is less issue with mould growth. I must admit, she has a point.

My unusual but legal hobby is now rock tumbling. I find rocks and put them in a machine & it polishes them over a few weeks.
Hint: Buy those little plastic eyes glue them on the larger ones and sell them to fund your hobby.
You can also buy clasps to make them into pendants.
Have you done tigers eye yet? They are awesome!!

I'd buy that lamp and the first horseshoe wine-rack in an heartbeat. I've seen the crank-lamps before, but never so well executed. That one's just lovely proportions and finish. Bravo! Might sound like a silly question, but why? I quite like the raw look. Maybe I'm missing something?

My father used to do this. He made his tumbler out of an odd parts and an old record player motor. Infact somewhere I probably have the polishing grit.

Was it you who did the thread about it?There was someone asking about buying lock picks on here and i did a lot of research into it afterwards, very interesting little hobby but like so much i never really found the time to go further than looking at it.
Random lock opening fact of the day. In order to open those 4 digit pin-code locks you see on office key-safes and changing room lockers try 2244, it tends to be the default code for 80-85% of them. Failing that carry a 9V battery with you, in-case they run out of power whilst locked most will have two metal connections somewhere on them and touching these with a 9V battery will always override and open the lock.
Light entertainment prog' several months back featured much the same format, unusual hobbies. They televised a chap who has been collecting glass milk bottles for years. Bottles were absolutely everywhere, the collector proudly displayed the various differing features on some of his more rare bottles.
His hobby was well out of hand and he was persuaded to release some of his collection to caring owners.
