I'd say about 7/7.5

Would be nice to get into a management job having done the training for it, but no chance where I am currently working, and I still enjoy the job I do.
Would be nice to have a little more money (See above)
Would be nice to do the work that needs doing on my house to make it a home (See above)
Would be nice to have someone to come home to rather than an empty house
Would be nice to see more of my kids

However, I have a roof over my head, enough money to cover the bills and put food on my plate, and a job to keep me occupied and busy, my health is generally ok, and I see my kids more than some dads do. So can't complain too much.

I have two diametrically opposed situations at the moment; one of which would be a 7 or 8, the other a 2 or 3. Therefore I'm going with a 5.

9. No kids yet, have not turned fat and have enough money to enjoy life, travel and do whatever the hell we want.

I don't actually see the point of having kids...

Always 10.

Refuse to let life break me - in any form.

Pros:
Wife is mildly happy
Both my boys are great
House is looking good, with the extension finished last month
All family members in good health
Found a decent coach who can get me faster and can help win races

Cons:
Contract ending and need a new job
Loosing considerable money a month - but who gives a st?
Not enough cash to buy a car for Mrs
Not running fast enough

About a 9-9.5

Family life great & I'm working on the greatest project in modern history.
Checked your profile to find out what you're working on.

Very cool!

My life? Probably 4 to 6 depending on the day. Too many bad decisions and a niggling health issue mean my life is not where it should be. And I don't think my long term future will be bright. But it's Ok, because I have low expectations.

The reason I started this thread is I posed the question on another popular forum and expected most replies to be around 2 or 3 with most moaning about one thing or another and bemoaning their lot in life.

I was amazed to see how many posted 8 plus, there was a lot of optimism about...smile

On the downside, this wasn't the case in all the replies, but happily they were in the minority.

At the moment I would say 9, but twelve months ago it would have been 2, as I suffer quite a bit from mood swings, but hopefully things will improve from now on, as I have sorted some long standing issues in my personal life which were dragging me down.

So for anyone feeling down in the dumps at the moment, chin up, there is always hope...smile
Other forums, really? I never realised.

Started the day on 1, just got an offer on our house that's been for sale for ages so up to about 12, if it falls through I'll be back down to -100 and probably kill myself.

I have learned that the better you feel the closer you are to disaster - so I try and keep myself at 5 no matter what!

Currently about a 4. But things can always be worse, and I am sure they will improve soon.

7 - could do a lot worse. I'm inherently a doom and gloom merchant, but on the whole my outlook has changed over the last year. Life could be a lot worse, and that's despite having a few rare disorders that affect my day to day life, but as I keep saying, many people live with worse, and this isn't going to kill me.

Sorry for everyone who is on the low end of the scale, I hope things pick up for you. I can sympathise with Impasse, a girl I live with when I'm back up North for work has BPD and I've seen how it affects her, she never looks "right".

Unless you're living in Syria or suffering some nasty ailment/disease etc., you really have no excuse to vote less than 5.
Learn to separate work from home. I only come to work to earn money, and when I leave the company car park it's forgotten about until I arrive for work next.
In other words, work to live, NOT live to work.

With that in mind - I have a nice home, warmth, and food to eat. So for me it's a 10.

Yes, I would like a bigger home, a bigger pay cheque, more food, kids who do their homework without being told...a wife with bigger boobs etc etc...but what I have is enough to be content with.

8. Few cosmetics to work on but stuff that matters is sorted.

Also feel sorry for those at the bottom, hope you find some peace.

I wish I could manage that trick. I'm still thinking about work in my sleep at 3am.

Trying to be positive and focus on being a ten. But in reality it drops to a 1 some days and 10 others so I guess I average to a 5. Lol

I'll say 7

Got my dream job but the wages won't match my skill set until April next year (I should be on £12+ph but currently paid £7.50ph) which is directly linked to the other thing that's bothering me.... I want to move out from my parents house.

Other than that everything's awesome

A good 9/10 I'd say.

Albert Camus (or some such) said that happiness results from man's understanding of who he is; combined with acceptance of the life he is living.

I'm there.
