It may be a long way from home, but whenever you're there it's that same familiar, comfortable atmosphere.

And Molly Gwynns in Moscow is OK, but next time you're there try Scandinavia near Metro Pushkinskaya.
I have many, many a time, nice bit of ice skating in the garden in winter smile Scandinavia is another fav but more restaurant than bar for me. I'd also add Shatush if we were doing restaurants or el gaucho nr Paveletskaya. .

There are some nice places around Paveletskaya!
For a cheap, grimy pizza and pint you can't beat Kruzhka near Novoslobodskaya or Barrikadnaya. I remember crushing a cockroach with an empty glass in one of them laugh

Yup, has been a while but Sams bar (american style and one on starry arbat) was grim, used to pretty much live just behind Paveletskaya tower in the Tatyana hotel.

The Mitre (formerly The Rat & Parrot) on the junction of Holland Park Ave and Ladbroke Grove in Holland Park (London). My best mate lived in London for a number of years and I'd regularly finish early on a Friday and get the train down, meeting him there for dinner and to plan the weekend. It's also a good place to sit outside on a sunny day and while away the afternoon watching the local supercars cruising past.

I used to live near Pushkinskaya just off Patriarch's Ponds, so it was a short walk to Scandinavia and just 5 minutes via metro to Barrikadnaya when I was skint laugh
It's a very expensive area!

No, mainly because we liked to be alongside a busy road with maximum supercar spotting potential. He's thinking of moving back at some point so maybe we'll give it a go.

Typically got a bar or two that I'll visit whilst travelling in Germany. No idea on any of the names but theres a good underground bar/restaurant in Munich that I'll be back to next month.

Used to be a great bar in San Fran with hundreds of beers but closed a year or so back but Jak's Bar in North Beach has a decent enough selection of proper beer. Anyone know of a decent bar in the San Jose area?

That was my local when I lived in Houston (several miles from where I lived though) biggrin

I have a few in other cities

Dubliner - Oslo
Beverly's - Stavanger
Camel's Toe - Baku - now goes under another name but will always be the Camel's Toe

Locals in other cities in my case are places where I either arrange to meet people or there is a good chance of bumping into someone I know.

Been a long long time since I was there too!

Had a few good nights in Sherlocks on westheimer and that sports bar that was south of Richmond ave too.

This is nearly descending into spot who works in the oil industry.
