Barbour's customer service is probably the best I've ever come across
Totally agree with this. Every single one of my experiences with them has been brilliant.

I have a couple of Barbour coats, jackets, and fleeces.
However the best out door coat i have ever had,is from a mail order out door company called wearite, their milair shooting jacket is king.
Totally, utterly, waterproof, does not smell, feel cold, go mouldy,or go hard and manky.

I have a Barbour briefcase (xmas pressie, second hand smile ) and had problems with the quick release straps and the lining was starting to come unstitched. Barbour sent me a prepaid plastic bag to return it to them and a week later they replaced it with a new one. smile

Changing the subject a bit...has anyone re-waxed their barbour?

Am I likely to ruin it if I try? Sending it off takes something silly like 4 weeks.
You can find a guide via Google, in less time that it took to type the question!

Are these badges a new thing? My B is ten plus years old and didn't come with a badge. Have I been diddled, can I venture abroad without it...........
You were idled. Bought mine in 1986, and mine came with a lapel badge. Been back to Barbour 3 times for patches and re-proofing. It's so old the style came back into fashion

FFS, anyone who buys a waxed coat and has to ask where to put a badge, shouldn't be using/wearing the working coat. Seriously, PH should be re-named Mumsnet II. You fella's will be comparing clutch bags and under arm poodles next.

What? Speak up, young man. A lapel badger? The man's a fool. Eh? What should one do with a badger? Stand your ground, wait till you can see the whites of its eyes, then SHOOT the beggar. Did you really need to ask? And where's the man with my drink? What kind of establishment is this?

The thread has reminded me to buy some proofing wax for my 40 year old Solway Zipper. Real value for money, it is......

As usual, leaving things 'till the last minute, shooting starts on Saturday.

Email to Mr B:

Dear Mr B,

I have been diddled. Un-diddle me forthwith.

Regards,

The diddled one.

Barbour Storm Sweater - The single best bit of shooting/outdoor kit I've bought.

Problems?

The neck could do with being a proper all round job

It's never cold enough to wear one.
