That's certainly MOBO. It finds its roots in the late 20th century genre popularised by avant-garde musician and entertainer John Barnes. And then makes it considerably worse.

Either way, feel free to regale us with a list of acts or genres you'd like to see represented at the MOWOs.

How do they decide if a white artists music is of black origin ?

Adele for example, she is spectacularly white, so if she gets in what's stopping Dido, Jessie J rattles on about "Mandems" and other nonsense so she is in.

It's not that hard, is it? Blues, soul, jazz, hiphop, funk, urban and plenty of other genres have pretty clear roots. Equally there are some genres that have a long established lineage from European history.

If you'd never heard of or seen Adele, then on listening to her music, when and where would you place it?

Does it really matter?
No and to emphasise that, I propose Mike Read's embarrassing UKIP Calypso for an award as the worst MOBO in history.

(you can describe pretty much all pop, rock and jazz as music of black origin, so the entire premise of the MOBO Awards is mistaken).

Most music that is popular in western culture is of black origin. Unless you're into metal, mozart or mandolins. It's about the only thing of any cultural value that America has given the world along with the hamburger.

In the CD rack, where it belongs.

So, basically anything could be considered "Of Black origin" music wise, sort of makes the MOBOs a bit redundant if it only leaves the less Funky Madrigals, Jerusalem and Kraftwerk that aren't of Black origin ?

Even metal can be traced back to the blues.

As has been said before, Jessie J won it a few years back in Glasgow, I only remember it because on that occasion I had the tough and rather arduous task of strapping cameras to some of her dancers smile.

I thought the Hamburger was of German origin - hence the name.

Are there FFOGO awards? Because Wendy's are in with a shout.
