You're going to struggle to get something made for £250.

When I say struggle, I mean it won't happen.

At that sort of price, you'll probably be safest going to Slaters or somewhere similar, buying some matching off the shelf stuff, and having it altered properly so it fits well.
The issue we have is, im 6'7 and have arms longer than Mr tickle, one of my ushers is about 4 foot 2 and another one is a mini Mr muscle with big shoulders and a tiny waist.
I think the suits are the least of your worries. Chances at the congregation will be too busy goggling at the the freakshow walking towards them.

Buy off the peg & then have a tailor take them in/adjust as needed?

I did this, think it cost £100 for the adjustments to the suit - well worth it

We are not having a "traditional" reception in any sense of the word, its more vintage vehicles, cider and hay bales than silver cutlery, fancy suits and forced poses
I'd rather have traditional than the unoriginal, trendy vintage weddings which seem to be all the rage these days.

When he mentioned he didn't want something from Saville Row for £1300 it confirmed he's a bit out of touch with prices.

Probably can't be done for 250 but I got a couple of tailored suits for £300 each from Raja Fashions a few years back. What they do is send tailors to hotels round the UK. You book an appointment and they measure you up and send the details back to Hong Kong for the suit to be made up and then they courier it back to you. You can get any final adjustments if necessary in the UK by one of their associated tailors. Mine were fine so didn't need to do this.

Happy to buy "off the shelf" and then get tailored/adjusted, that's an option too!

Re: the cost and people saying im "out of touch" I'm sure that's the case, I've purchased my fair share of good suits before but never tailored, so had no idea of cost.

I got married about 2months ago and bought a proper morning suit from black tie in crowthorne. http://www.black-tie-hire.co.uk

Go see Alex and he'll give you a good idea of costs as it will depend on what style you finally go with.. i.e can they just tailor an off the peg suit, or will it be fully bespoke.

Feel free to pm me and I can send over some photos if you want.

I chose the fabric for mine and think the whole suit was somewhere around £350 but I don't remember the exact figure.

Just to add, that was for an off the peg, but specific fabric, and including some alterations so it fitted perfectly.

Problem with tailored is the bulk discount you're hoping for won't really apply. 5 tailored suits will take 5* as much labour as one as they are all different. That's the point, right? There may be discount on fabric but that's a smallish part of the cost anyway.

So I think your off the peg and tailored option is what you'll have to look at. You hear good things about M&S these days and I'd recommend someone like that as best chance of finding 5 of the same suit across their network in the vastly varying sizes you say your party comprises of.

Good luck

They're v good. A suit that fits are also good and have more locations, and wedding suit bulk deals. Also you can give them s photo and they'll make your lining out of it!
