I assume this condition started at the dawn of wireless communication, the late 1800's then?
Earlier obviously, about the big bang I'd say as that's when background radiation appeared first.

So will this paint actually work then? In terms of blocking external signals.

I think my house must already have it judging by the wifi signal I get upstairs.

If it was not WiFi they would find something else that precludes them from leaving their house.

My new neighbour claims our Wifi router gives him heart palpatations. Apparently the previous tenants would turn theirs off when not in use to try minimise the effects in him.

Trying to play nice I entertained his ramblings for 10 minutes and said we could look into it. He even had the wall on his side lined with (supermarket special) tin foil to "block the signals". Quite why anyone would live in the City Centre if they genuinely believed they were being affected by wifi signals...

But, got to be careful with these nutters. They'll see it as perfectly reasonable to trash my Sky dish or such like.

blocking or jamming of signals is illegal in the UK i thought?

Could be considered a denial of service 'attack'

Or just set your router so that the ssid is not broadcasting and tell him you've turned it off. Bet he feels better all of a sudden

I think my house is, the door frames are all metal and all the internal walls are solid with metal mesh attached to hold the plaster. Wifi signal's rubbish anywhere except in the lounge with line of sight to the router biggrin

Apparently suffers from electro sensitivity, so has paid to have the house repainted in 'ray-repellent' paint to block signals But I note not covered the windows, so the signals can still get in

You can get EMI shield mesh from OpticalFilters

http://www.opticalfilters.co.uk/emiclare-sigma.htm...

They use it on screens in ATC and in aircraft. From a distance it might just appear like you have slightly tinted windows. Still when I bought some for screening an enclosure, you have to fanny around trying to ground it, it cost £400 for a roll and it wasn't particularly good anyway!

Though I was trying to suppress EMI radiation from quite powerful spark discharges.

Something about his bedroom being on the opposite wall to the router location, where the previous tenants had it as well.

We're pretty much just ignoring him now. The missus spoke to him once after my exchange where I entertained his lunancy, and she said something along the lines of "well we need wifi so you'll need to do something"

These folk are proper eco mentalists, no TV, internet, evil microwave generators, etc. How they can live in a city is beyond me.

I work as a street lighting engineer. Some time ago we received a complaint from a resident who claimed that putting a lantern near his house would give his daughter cancer...

WTF wink

I remember some years ago, a cellphone carrier erected a transmission antenna on the edge of a neighbourhood. People in the neighbourhood protested before; and a year after the work was completed went to court claiming all sorts of medical conditions blaming the new cell antenna.

The cell network company gave evidence that they have yet not put that antenna into operation, and obviously went away without constraints, and switched the antenna on biggrin

The amusing but being how they can't be near computers, wi fi, net, mobile phones.

Irony being they're emailing you it phoning you from a mobile.

Yes, but apparently the fumes can be fatal to certain people.
