Apparently suffers from electro sensitivity, so has paid to have the house repainted in 'ray-repellent' paint to block signals But I note not covered the windows, so the signals can still get in

STUDIES suggesting symptoms of electro-sensitivity are ‘all in the mind’ are flawed, the managing director of a radiation-repelling company has claimed.
Nice impartial view there smile

“Schools could use broadband instead of wi-fi, protecting them from early exposure to radiation."

Says it all really.

Stupid idea.

She should have spent the money on enclosing the house within a giant Faraday cage, and then recouped the investment by inviting the paying public to come and gawp upon her life, a kind of gullible idiot zoo.

Not sure I see where you are coming from. Broadband /= Wifi.

I have several devices hard wired into my broadband router via Ethernet cables. Wifi is simply a convenient option - not a necessity when it comes to broadband internet. Most wifi enabled routers have an option to turn off wifi and use the router in 'hard-wired' mode only.

(not saying I agree with her assessment of the dangers - but from a technical standpoint, I can't really fault her reasoning. Using a wired broadband system instead of a wifi one would likely reduce exposure to ambient EM radiation).

The story does have a distinct woo element to it.

When I read the thread title I honestly thought this would be a story about a gran getting sick of her grandkids coming round and then ignoring her the whole time while playing on their phones, but it seems that the real reason is even more nutty!

It's a large school (circa 1,000 pupils even back when I went there). I rather suspect most classrooms are wifi enabled these days & that a lot of devices on the system don't even have ethernet ports. At least if what we read of kids using tablets at school is true.

I assume this condition started at the dawn of wireless communication, the late 1800's then?
