Having not worked for a year while travelling, I was itching to get back to something and be productive. I'd never had believed anyone if they told me I'd feel that way.

It's worth thinking too, perhaps the people who would stay at work get something out of it all you who would run a mile don't? Sure, there are aspects of my job I don't like, but I get challenged and pushed by the people around me and I love that.

That said, I dream of a stress free career, so I would probably start my own furniture making business and be my own first client for a while, losses not being an issue. If I was OK, then maybe I'd start selling. Charity work would feature too. The notion of work is really just doing something constructive with your time and being pleased with your achievements.

I'd still work.

I might not seek paid employment, but I'd definitely still 'work'.

I'd still want to have a successful career. I'd want to earn success in my own right. I'd want to say I'd achieved something. I want to have dinner with interesting people because they want to talk to me, not because I'd paid for it.

I would probably keep working because I own my own business and I love what I do, it I like a hobby to me.

If I was still working for my previous employer though I would probably work a few more days, just to be given the opportunity to tell all of the directors what I thought of them.

I'd still work, mainly to have something constructive to do with my time.

Besides nothing reduces work stress quite like having the fiscal ability to call your boss a ccensoredt and just walk when ever you want biggrin

After a year of buggering about enjoying myself, I would set up my own restaurant, with around 10 covers, with the aim of achieving a star within 2 years. I just want to see if I could do it. I would then close the restaurant and bugger around racing in Britcar, N24 etc.

Yes. I'd do a job I'd always wanted to do. As opposed to a job I ended up in.

I'd 100% quit any job I was employed for and start a small business restoring/modifying classics and dealing in rare cars. The pressure would be off, I could hire some help and who cares if it makes a profit or not with £150m! I pretty much do it in my spare time currently and I'd love to take it on full time.

I'd have to be engaged in something otherwise I don't think I could cope. I wouldn't want to travel constantly going to different places, I need to be grounded the majority of the time. I love travelling but I wouldn't want it to be my life.

I'd stop work - there are too many things I want to do outside work that I don't have time (or money to do).

Buy a farm.

That's what a lot of my wealthiest clients have done to give them something to do.

Nice big house, 1000 acre "garden". Plenty of "pets".
Loads of space for a garage block / barn / hangar for the car collection.

Farm Manager to look after it all for you - you can then interfere as much or as little as you want.
Lambing would keep you busy at times.

It might even make money!

Another chap I met in Denmark, no need to work at all, set up a company making bespoke motorcycles.
Business not doing at all well - but it didn't matter. He had a farm as well.

Looking after the money can also be a job in itself. Investing in properties / stocks etc. get as involved as much or as little as you want.
I'd be able to keep myself busy!

Anyone who says that they would still work after a £150m win doesn't deserve to win it if you ask me.

As has been said previously, it's surely down to total lack of imagination? There's soooo much more that you could do with your time!

Hell no I wouldn't work. Phone work up and mention I'm not returning, Sagaris and a road trip the next day with no target destination just a passport and a bank card smile

150 million and still work, course I would

I would use my new found wealth to settle a very petty and personal grudge with a company I used to work with that treated me badly when I was first starting out in my profession. in fact I would use said new found wealth to utterly bury them.

no probably not I would imagine that a nice house in a quiet idyllic part of the lake district and a selection of vintage jags and a nice Mondeo estate i'd be a happy happy man

Work?

As in get up at a predetermined time everyday?

Go to a predetermined place?

Do what someone else tells you? To make money for them?

Not a chance in hell.

Work for myself? with an intention of making a profit?

Not a chance in hell.

Do exactly what I want for the rest of my life?

Go on then - i'll give that a go.

I'd quit my job pronto but my main objective would be to free up the time I need to develop things I love doing into full time occupations. I certainly wouldn't stop 'working' as I like to be busy and have things to focus on, objectives, targets, a purpose ... but I'd focus on things that I'd love to do but currently can't as they need some considerable time and attention before they'll start to generate an income.
