Some people just give £15 out without checking the recipient's credit score....

Always have friends that have the same disposable income as yourself.

Keep others at an acquaintance level.

So you should bin and old school friend just because your lives take different paths ?
Ridiculous comment IMO.

OP should man up and send bank details to those who owe and requesting they transfer the money.

A while ago I organised a trip to holland, one of the guys hadn't paid up but said they would. Anyway I go and pick them up and before they get in the car I ask them for the money, of course they said oh yeah can I pay you when we get back?

I said yeah fine and drove straight to the cashpoint, with the ultimatum that in actual fact he should pay me right now. He went mental, but after his hissy fit went and got the money from his account. He was then miserable the whole time- wish I'd left him at home !!!!

They're not friends.
This. Many years ago I lent a mate £20 (about £50 in todays money) on the promise it would be paid back quickly. Neither if us were well paid so it was a big thing to do it.

Payment never arrived yet he was flush enough to be socialising in the local. After a while I wrote of the debt, and our friendship.

Money well spent in my eyes.

I used to run a office Lotto syndicate. It was nearly always -£100 due to bad/lazy payers, so funded it out of my own pocket. Then a few left, and never paid their share (I recovered it out of small winnings). So I e-mailed all the participants that only those who'd payed would be included. A while later, we won enough that each got around £1500. The resultant howling by those who'd been left out amount was epic !!!!!

I'd just say please give me the £15 now, I need it. Get it back and get it back now would be my opinion.
