Children and their associated paraphenalia.

I have three children under 4. Soon they will need new shoes. This means I will walk away from Clarks £100 poorer. This happens often.

I simply canot believe the amount we spend on them. And they are wonderful.

confused

How? If you managed to do that with anything other than your course fees you're an idiot. However, if you did that with your course fees, you're still an idiot because student loans are not even real loans. hehe

If I had 15k in the bank I'd still have taken a student loan to pay my fees.

Childcare - £900ish a month (each) for full time Mon-Friday. (I had 2 kids going until recently).

I currently consider the fact that I have sent my eldest to private school now a bargain at only £500 a month.

So £15k over 4 years is actually pretty good value educationally speaking.

I spent a long time trying to explain to my brother that he should take the maximum amount rather than paying it with his inheritance/savings. He couldn't work it out.

Disneyland... all of them cost way more than you think it should...

I just received a quote for a family of 5, in Feb for 1 night stay / 2 days in the park.... £1300 - not including getting to Paris..

Awful, awful, minging place and I'm not even sure why my dear wife is trying to make me go through it again.... I swore once was enough....

On the flip - Drayton Manor Theme Park near Birmingham is about £90 for a day's family ticket and is unbelievably great fun!!
Sssshhh wink The best value, compact kid-friendly theme park in England, I love it biggrin

Plenty of shoes for kids this age at less than £10 a pair. Perfectly wearable and good fitting, no need to go to Clarkson then moan about the price I'd say.

Motorbike brake discs seem ridiculously overpriced for such simple components. How can a pair of simple discs cost more than a washing machine or a television?

I can understand complicated, expensive to tool up, limited production assemblies such as instruments or fairings being costly but discs prices are a joke.

Family photos at a professional photographers studio.

Quite how they can present their packs, options, and rest of price list with a straight face is beyond me.

A ticket to watch Bath Rugby. Getting on for £45 to watch a 80 minuit game. By the time you throw in parking, travel, a drink and some food its around £90.
