Ad blocker recommendations
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Having a problem at the moment with pop up ads all over the bloody place, pissing me off and slowing my machine down. I've tried Firefox adblockers but they dont seem to work with the type of ads I'm having trouble with.
I have attached a screenshot of the type of ads that are causing the problem. Do any of you have any blocker recommendations?
Cheers

Don't get anything popping up like that on mine even with no ad-blockers.
You've probably got an advertising program installed and running alongside your browser. Getting rid of that should stop the problem. Google ad ware and malware for more info. There are free tools to remove them, just don't pick one that installs more

Download Malwarebytes (malwarebytes.org) and run a full scan. Then download adblock plus from here - https://adblockplus.org/
All your worries will go away.

I don't bother with browser add-ons etc, I find this does the job nicely. Occasionally I find it blocks something I want such as the comments section on certain news sites (e.g the Telegraph 'powered by Disqus'). Then it's just a case of finding the offending line in the file and commenting it out with a #
I hadn't realised how much crap it was blocking until I bought an Android tablet recently. Jeez.
