The shops have the parents all stitched up.

I have willingly chosen to spend 30 quid on my 3 kids to give them a fun experience they can hold on to for as long as it sticks. They're cousins come round and we make a bit of a party out of it for them.

Anyone who thinks that is st and thinks poisoning kids is a fun idea obviously doesn't have kids, or is a 5star pillock.

It's hard to beat a really big empty bowl with a 'please help yourself sign' attached.
Leave a few wrappers around for effect.

By you, maybe

Others experiences are well documented and not at all skewed
Where do you live, Dewsbury?

Call the poleece if you're getting harassed by the local chavs.
No. But I'm not going to boast about where I was lucky enough to grow up. My parents worked hard & earned every penny, spending it wisely.

They weren't local, Police were called & they were prosecuted

Maybe the chavs by you bus out to harass those in better areas tongue out

I went in the other direction and built lighting units and "monsters" to encourage the little buggers. As they crossed the boundary not only did "things" light up connected to movement sensors but I played a loud thunder file from a 100 watt system that had some kids running back down the drive and one running into the house grabbing my wife for safety smile
Will post pics if anyone is interested. We had 60+ packets of sweets and ran out before the kids stopped coming. Next year is going to be bigger and better smile
Cost was less than 150.

Wasn't sure whether to post this here but tonight I saw a Zafira outside my dads house with at least

2 broken eggs on the screen.

Wonder how and when they got there ?

No idea who owns it.

Sounds awesome. We dressed my 11month old son up and went to my parents as they get so many more trick or treaters and my mind was working overtime on ideas how to spook up the driveway for next year.

All I experienced tonight we're about 40 kids in total all in very good costumes, all with parents in tow, most of which were in good costumes too. All kids were polite saying thank you and all parents hung back abit to let the kids do there bit and shouted thanks before they moved on. We offered the bowl to the kids at first and they were taking one sweet rather than a handful so I took over dishing them out so they got more, my son loved the costumes, the other kids had a safe fun night and the parents got to see their kids being polite.

Seems to be getting bigger and bigger each year, I love it. Every other house had pumpkins out and a bit of decoration.

I can see how it is a pain in the arse getting up every 5 minutes if your not into it though but you're abit of a tool of you start lacing sweets with laxatives etc.

Your all only scrooges because you never got taken trick or treating, and you have resentment from a missed childhood memory..

Probably.
There wasn't trick or treating when I was a kid, that is a recent American import. Here in Scotland it was called "guising". Which meant going round the neighbouring houses in a spooky costume and having to tell a joke or sing a song to get sweets or monkey nuts. Not this new idea of turning up at a house and just expecting sweets for nothing.
