History learning site
Discussion
Just popped in to share this with you.
I discovered this fascinating site, purely by chance whilst researching the crusades in the middle east, what is so good about it is there is hardly any waffle, like sometimes you see on Wikipedia, the articles are concise, and very well written. (imo).
If you know of any similar ones, can you kindly share them.....

The site's layout is definitely not the most pleasant thing, but that particular section is one of the more nicely laid out. The quality of information is nothing short of spectacular there; most of the replies will be from experts on their chosen field and as such will come with references for books, page numbers and all the other academic touches you never knew you wanted. If history interests you, there aren't many places online that will trounce it for quality.

Plenty of the same faces as Ask Historians, but the subreddit is more for tearing apart bad history posted elsewhere on Reddit or in films. This subreddit definitely is the more casual of the two, but there's still the same hub of knowledge behind it. You'll notice quite a few emergent jokes there, and it can definitely feel a less dry read. The downside is that it's not so much about asking questions. You'll have to get handy with Reddit's search functionality if there's something you'd like to find on that subreddit.

I've done the occasional article for this site, although it hasn't had much added to it in recent weeks some of the stuff on it is really interesting;
