Anyhow, while the girls argue, in 10 minutes I'm jumping in the Caterham, going for blat and will no doubt end up having a brew before a sandwich and planning where I'm off to tonight..
Cinema in town, Classic rock at the pub down the road, Johnny Vegas at the local comedy club, a party or just a quiet night at the local.
Yes Life has turned out good.

Although, some might suggest that this is nothing more than a predetermined list of distractions while you wait for a return of true happiness.Anyhow, while the girls argue, in 10 minutes I'm jumping in the Caterham, going for blat and will no doubt end up having a brew before a sandwich and planning where I'm off to tonight..

I can assure you nobody is going near the chocolate chimney whatever you thought about the OP. I don't suppose I should really care about what some of you guys think constitutes gayness cos it doesn't measure up to what I think it is, and I'm old school, so not as tolerant as modern thinking prescribes.

If my Good Lady ever were to shuffle off this mortal coil prematurely, I wish I could be sure of being as resilient as you, Bryan. BTW, mine fun machine is a Westfield but, hey, it's a step in the right direction!Anyhow, while the girls argue, in 10 minutes I'm jumping in the Caterham, going for blat and will no doubt end up having a brew before a sandwich and planning where I'm off to tonight..

Yes - happy to have a list of distractions like that cos I decided that I'm not here for practice, neither should you be. Sunday isn't so busy.
I'm content with being active, mixing with friends and doing stuff and happy to see where it takes me. If I don't like the path I'm following I move off in another direction without having to ask anybody.
Its OK chasing butterflies cos you rarely catch one, but while doing other things, one might surprise you and land on your shoulder.
Hands up whose stopping in tonight and watching Celebrity / X Factor ? Want to swap Mr Impasse ?
This is about far more than getting a life back.
Oh, and on the Caterham - that was a present to myself 3 years ago to replace my aging Westfield SeI bought new in '97 ( and an MG and a Morgan before that ) so Sports cars are in my blood and not just a mid life crisis thing. MotCo - you're on the right track, just give it a year or two :-)
Stay Cool .... ( it was bloody perishing in the Cat earlier ! )

Bearing in mind the Good Lady's preferences, the top-off toy is now a BMW Z3 and the Westfield is kept for trackdays. It was the weekend toy for ten years but it's not suitable for day-trips to the coast really, and we both enjoy topless motoring and creature comforts! She comes to trackdays as an enthusiastic passenger.

I'm not sure I understand the question, but you've misread me if you think I enjoy watching trash television shows. This is about far more than getting a life back.
However, I would rather share the TV with someone who loves me irrespective of her choice of programme type, than be forced to fill the void with hollow activities where a fixed smile is mandatory. Because if I did that I might have to convince myself that all the other residents of my village were giving me envious looks instead of pityingly sympathetic ones.

Just Double WOW.
I think I'll go my own way and be my own person from now on and smile if I find something amusing.
This thread has ceased to be constructive and not what I intended, and thanks to the people who were positive in their replies.
Seasons Greetings - I'm off.
fk me, there are some ugly on the inside people on PH. From one who walked and is still walking the same crappy path of loss back to life, I wish you every happiness and success in all that you do now. Happy Xmas and on the day, perhaps you'll do what I and that's make a toast to all that mattered and all that still matters. I think I'll go my own way and be my own person from now on and smile if I find something amusing.

So it's ok to deride and porn scorn on your friends and neighbours lifestyle - despite the fact that they still are well meaning enough to invite you to their social occasions and into their homes?
But as soon as someone in your audience says they don't think the idea of driving a kit-car to a destination where they'll sit in a darkened room getting drunk with bachelor friends while listening to Michael Bublé records is exactly their idea of the zenith of experiences, then it's reason to flounce?

Bloody hell!!!! How does something so innocent turn so nasty? And thats a rhetorical question.
Everybody deserves to be happy and there is NOBODY on PH in a position to be judgemental.
Because there are some nasty people who post on these forums. Most people just want to get along, swap stories, ideas, talk about things that interest them, maybe go to a meet, convoy to the venue and have a bit of fun chatting to people, making new friends etcEverybody deserves to be happy and there is NOBODY on PH in a position to be judgemental.
Other people just want to criticise, put people down, have dig at people and generally be unpleasant. I must admit I don't understand why they do it.

Can we swap bank balances so I can have the care-free life at 24? (instead of working away all the time and still being up to my eyes in debt!)
Actually I'm in the very fortunate position to have come so close to death in a short instance that life priorities are re-adjusted and one learns what's important and and what's not, alas i think i understand what you're getting at Bryan. Whilst an unpleasant experience, the relaxed demeanour gained, not worrying, and making the most of today is a very small price to pay in my case...
