I bought my Mrs a poncey, fluffy card about 6 years ago - must have been feeling guilty about something.

She still puts is out every year saving me from buying another.

Turned out to be a sound investment.

I haven't sent any for about 6 years now.

Any I recieve are opened and put straight into the bin. Can't see the point of them tbh.
Don't you feel guilty?
Why should he fell guilty because someone does not respect his wishes. In that case they are only sending a card to make themselves feel good, with not a care for the recipient.

I do not think that is the case at all. They may not know that he puts them in the bin. Anyway it shows that others are thinking of you at Christmas time. It is no different to someone wishing you a Merry Christmas or Happy birthday by saying it. If you receive a card the least you can do is read it and put it up on display.

Just because it has all become a little too commercialized it does not mean that people cannot think of others and give a little time or a gift that may bring a little happiness to others. It is the thought that counts.

Hopefully that does not sound too sickly.

There are clearly a few bah humbug/ miserable gits on here.

Place I used to work at did this but instead of charity we spent it on pre-Xmas do drinks.
That sounds equally worthwhile! :hic:
It seemed the right thing to do!

There were about 20 blokes based out of the office - about 3 sales people and the rest were consultants. We very rarely actually even used the place so it seemed stupid taking cards in for people who you probably wouldn't even see from one month to the next and blokes hate sending cards. Each of us putting £15 in a pot seemed much more sensible as the company paid for a Christmas do, but wouldn't pay for drinks.

Guilty about what?
I'm a terminally single male in his 30's with no side board to put them on.
Only the cat would see them so it's pointless!
