It had cropped up in various Google searches before I joined and one day I decided it could be useful and signed up. It hasn't been massively useful.
'Pistonheads, it hasn't been massively useful': I think we've found a replacement tagline for 'Speed matters'.

I saw the 'Winged Horse of Chav Tat' and I was hooked...!

Seriously, after attending the Hants & Berkshire TVRCC meets looking to buy my TVR, I was told of PetrolTed and his informative chat pages...

Just look what has become of the Old Petrolheads...

Pistonted had seen my erudite postings on the lotus bbs and invited me personally across.

It was the first forum I had been on where I was paid to post.

I used to be on a single make forum. I discovered that single make forums are very dull places, because they only talk about a single specific make of car, and practically nothing else. I followed a link from that forum one day to here, and never went back to the other forum.

I love driving, but I have very little interest in actually talking about cars. This place is perfect for talking about all sorts of other stuff that is interesting. Cycling, food, photography, numpty militant Scottish independentists... this place has it all.

And may I just say, whilst I don't always agree with your views, I always think of you as a strong poster.

Horribly sycophantic maybe, but.

This is my second user ID. I was sent here by a mate who had a tvr and we used to do track days together - that must have been 15 years ago now. I did not visit much from about 2003 to 2007 due to work - and then started to visit more from 2007.

Used to spend time on the EVO forum when it first started. They always used to take the piss out of here, so I thought I'd see what was so funny.

Swiftly realised that the mocking was due to inferiority, and never left.

Although forgot my login when I changed jobs, so had to make a new one.

Quite proud that something I posted led to someone joining here, according to one of the early replies.

Playing Forza 4 on the X Box, I kept having my arse handed to me by several members of the PH Car Club, but they were a darn nice lot and I wanted to join in their reindeer games, so signed up to get in. Then I found the rest of the forums, and bang went my days smile

Through my brother. I read for a while before I signed up asking for some advice in the SPL forum.

It has been a good few years car wise and I have met quite a lot of likeminded, decent people from Switzerland, East Anglia and Germany.

You're so modest Sam laugh

Ditto. Probably a link from another forum.
