I believe they simply change your firstname be deedpole. So if your name is Mr john david smith, you will now be Mr Lord david smith.

Make sense?

Barony titles are about £75k now, should have bought the one I was offered for £15k. Feck!

The 'Lord' titles are worthless and you cannot buy a proper 'lordship'.

We bought my departed mother a title for her bithday many years ago .
Had the ownership of a square mtr land in Caithness , title of lady, certificate of title and map of area .
Was always a laugh as mum was always known as 'Duchess'

Yeah,if you own land in Scotland (even a little bit) I think you are it's "laird"(forrin for Lord) so you can be the "Lord of 21a Salmond Terrace,Govan"!!
