you're not a Lord, officially or unofficially
Well it says so on my Debit card so that's as 'official' as I need! to make out your an actual Lord is against the law isn't it?

you're not a Lord, officially or unofficially The title Lord is advertised wrongly. In Scotland if you become land owner you can call yourself "Laird" and to get this you could by as small as 1 sq foot of land. Many estates in Scotland sell them but they all coming with conditions. You can't sell " your" land, built anything on, have official document from land register of Scotland etc. However under the Scottish Law now you can legally call yourself Laird "your name". You can have CC and all of yours documents without need of a deed poll. It is a very strong business for some estates.

If I owned a £10,000 council house in deepest, darkest Glasgow - can I call myself Laird? jinkster said:

"The term ‘laird’ has generally been applied to the owner of an estate, sometimes by the owner himself or, more commonly, by those living and working on the estate. It is a description rather than a title, and is not appropriate for the owner of a normal residential property, far less the owner of a small souvenir plot of land. It goes without saying that the term ‘laird’ is not synonymous with that of ‘lord’ or ‘lady’"So to make it clear for you: NO you can not.
However you calling yourself a Pilot, so why not calling yourself a Laird
