My ex OH did this once. I found it insulting and patronising. I told her straight that it wasn't on and never to do it again, and to her credit she never did.

Quite simply, if you are uncomfortable with it, and you have asked her to stop but she doesn't, you are in the wrong relationship.

By all means give her one last chance if you wish, but if that fails, walk.

Do not ever retaliate with violence. She will then automatically be seen as the victim. Three times I called the police for assistance, three times they believed her and not me even though I was injured and she was not. I didn't bother the fourth time but left the relationship never to return.
