I'm just a bit of a jinks and have been in a few fires houses and hotels. Times when i have been stood outside in boxers and t-shirt and noting else, wishing I had some socks or money to get a hot drink food or book another hotel. Once I really needed a torch so I could see down the stairs in a hotel that was on fire so I and the other 20 odd people could see the way down. The exit lights were st in the 80's.
It just evolved to carry more and more stuff over the years.
I don't think there is much use for a prepper/survivalist go-bag in the UK where natural disasters are unlikely to happen and there are many large towns and cities within a single fuel tank's range, no matter where you live.
However, I suspect the vast majority of people (myself included) don't have a 'store cupboard' of food that would last more than a couple of days, and would be in trouble if their local supermarket had to shut due to bad weather, a fuel crisis, etc. That's a more useful area of Emergency Planning than expecting to run away....

I suppose my brother and I are both "preppers".
A combination of being ex-forces so always had survival kits of some kind and going on a "zombie survival weekend" recently had us both beef up our survival kits to grab bags. Mine stays in the boot of the car.
It contains too much to list, but has a full first aid kit, shelter, hammock, fire making, food, signalling.

Pure coincidence and of little relevance.A combination of being ex-forces so always had survival kits of some kind and going on a "zombie survival weekend" recently had us both beef up our survival kits to grab bags. Mine stays in the boot of the car.

You're both complete fruit loops looking for an excuse.
Personally I salute you for wearing your loopiness outwardly and refusing to try to conform

What's the point of leaving your bag in your house then?Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
