Left a temporary job earning OK money to a job paying a little more, but permanent. 6 months later said they were happy with how I'd settled in and how hard I work and gave me a 6k pay rise!
Bought the car that I wanted, and although expensive so far, now needs nothing other than cosmetic things and to use all of it's fuel.
Proposed to my gorgeous, intelligent, honest, hard working fianceé!
Went to Autosport show in January, big tick off of the list.
Saw Lee Evans before he retired.
Met my gorgeous Niece.
Loads more, but couldn't have a proper holiday cause car
Didn't quite get the username you always wanted though did ya - eh!!Bought the car that I wanted, and although expensive so far, now needs nothing other than cosmetic things and to use all of it's fuel.

I have a R2 mug at home, and the OH said "it's R2T2" and it stuck in my head.

I am immensely proud of my wife. She donated one of her kidneys, and went into the major surgery without even a wimper. So brave. She has made a full recovery and is very modest about her achievement.
The recipient of that kidney has had his life changed. Thats me.
Fantastic! The recipient of that kidney has had his life changed. Thats me.
I am proud to have paid off a number off finances within a year which has saved me thousands paying them off early.
I am proud I managed another year with the mental.
I am proud of my motorbike track days and not binning it. Also being told by an instructor I'm actually quite handy on a bike made my day (on the day).

It’s been an expensive year and one of many changes. I’m proud of my wife for having ‘Baby Number 2’, it’s an odd name but we like it!
January, we moved from Sheffield to a tiny village in South Oxfordshire
February, I started a new job
April to June I worked away
April got a builder to build an extension on our newly built home
June, had a baby
July, extension finished
September, spent 30k on a car
And that’s enough for this year!

What a year!
Really started for me at end November 2013 - left my partner of 14 years as I couldn't cope with her bi-polar disorder any more. Resigned from my job but they kindly offered me a four month sabbatical instead; so I flew out of UK on Christmas day to spend 10 days in Thailand with friends who were going there on holiday anyway.
New year at a small beach club - the three of us drinking from 'Thai buckets'!
Next flew to Bali to stay with another friend, she lives out there. Met an amazing 28 year old restaurant manager on my second day there - ended up in a relationship with her that lasted most of this year (I have been back to Bali and also met her in Istanbul).
Climbed a volcano for sunrise, went to Vietnam with a female friend who came out to see me. Had some mental nights out with her in Vietnam, met some great people.
Travelled around Japan for two weeks with friend from Bali, visited HK, learnt to swim properly (shameful really at 46!).
Put house on the market and took it off again.
Spent a lot of time staying at friends - living out of my rucksack; learning that I don't need as much stuff as I thought I did.
Nearly moved my life to Indonesia but bottled it...couldn't leave friends and family here. Explaining this to my girlfriend there broke my heart and I may have made the biggest mistake of my life...just didn't have the balls to move.
Saved a woman's life in Jakarta - ended up covered head to foot in her blood but she lived.
Woke up in a bed next to my friend from Bali with two drunken Japanese salary-men sleeping in the bed next to us then had to run to catch a bullet train.
Went to a robot restaurant!
Spent a lot of time with Indonesians in their homes, learnt a lot and what lovely people they are.
Stayed in a big hotel (with Bali girlfriend) where we were literally the only guests - stuck the Bose on max and danced drunk around the whole place.
Saw Mount Fuji covered in snow.
Now have a fantastic new girlfriend here in the UK, which is going well.
Work is back on track.
Lots more I could add....what a year!!
On a similar note, I split up with my wife in October 2013 (The old "I love you, I'm just not in love with you anymore" line!). There was an opportunity in May to work in Australia for 3 months so I took it as I just wanted to get away from everything for a while. Started using Tinder over there and met a 33 year old Aussie girl (I am 41! I may have even asked Council Baby's advice on the Match thread as I had 3 offers of a date that weekend! His advice was spot on!).Really started for me at end November 2013 - left my partner of 14 years as I couldn't cope with her bi-polar disorder any more. Things instantly felt right on our first date and I moved in with her at the start of September. I am back in the UK for Christmas but I head back out to Melbourne on the 28th of December and we have a trip to Vegas and New York book for February.
Just applied for my Decree Nisi so should hopefully be divorced soon! Got my 457 Visa organised so I can stay in Australia. I own hardly any possessions now and that in itself has been a liberating experience.
So I have gone from living at my parents house at the start of the year to living in Melbourne with a hot girl 8 years younger than me. Looking forward to New Year in the warm!
I think most of my married friends are slightly jealous!
Life could be worse.....
