Raised (so far) £6,870 for Marie Curie biggrin
A sponsored marriage for charity, what a great idea.
If you stay together for another year, then you can put me down for a fiver.

Which has to be worth a £5? It's not like I've spent a couple of hours taking a walk, I've made a sacrifice/dramatic change to my appearence that will last for years...

2014: Asked the one person who has looked after me and kept me on the straight and narrow for 10 years to marry me... luckily she said yes!

2015: Paying for the above.

I am immensely proud of my wife. She donated one of her kidneys, and went into the major surgery without even a wimper. So brave. She has made a full recovery and is very modest about her achievement.

The recipient of that kidney has had his life changed. Thats me.
We have a winner! biggrin
Can't argue with that!

I'm proud of the fact that my littl'un has got to the grand old age of 1 this week, under my care without any major issues. I've no idea where the time has gone but I've had a blast, I think.

Just to clarify, I never expected any real problems but nor did I think I'd have any kids at all 21 months ago.

Wow, top effort. On the up side, it must take you less time to get ready in the morning.

I wish you'd post this story on one of the many pathetic misogynistic threads that pop up on PH on a regular basis.

It's not on the scale of some of the entries on here but, at 21, I bought my first flat! woohoo It's a decently-sized 2-bed maisionette (with a garage!) in an area that I like but had given up hope of being able to afford (Being in a London Borough prices in general had gone ballistic over the last couple of years). It had, and still has, a tonne of work to be done and as such the next year or so are going to be terrifically skint whilst I pay for it BUT.... it's mine biggrin it makes the stupendous hours I've put in at work worth it and I think that it's a wise choice, time will tell smile

I had to sell my Alfa 156 GTA, I bought that at the very end of last year - 29th Dec - but I've always wanted an Alfa with the Busso V6 and it was a stunner (not to mention it being my first 'proper' car) so I'm counting that too biggrin

I am also rather pleased with the promotion I achieved at work, overall thinking about it this year has been very kind to me smile

not so much me per se, but my son got the all clear from Leukemia after 3.5 years of chemotherapy. Very, very proud of him going through that from age 2.5-6.

Changed jobs early in the year, it was a risk but one worth taking. Started studying part time again in a different field which has been very interesting also got engaged during the year and am on the way to having not only an amazing fiancée but also getting a lovely step daughter to be.

It was a tough end to 2013 family health wise and a tougher start to 2014 but thankfully both parents are going from strength to strength

Roll on 2015 and whatever it brings....

I've survived a full year of working with my parents in a new business venture that's seen me go from working for others to working basically for myself.

Not only that, we've managed to really fit into a new community and take the turnover of our wee shop up around 50% as an average over the year.

If you'd have told me that I'd be working 80 hour weeks with no real breaks and enjoying it I would have said you were mad. Best bit is I know that I've still got years of this ahead of me and I can't wait!
