You and I may not agree on payment in shops by debit card, but I'll take this opportunity to say "sorry mate". That's a bummer. Hope things turn around.

Retired on Sept 30th. Haven't had to endure the annual pre-Xmas mad rush for repeat prescriptions for the first time since 1976.

Every December " thought I'd get my prescription in nice and early for Christmas, just in case".....

Me :" We're only closed for two days"

Off next Monday at 12.00 until 5th January. First job ever this has happened. More used to working through the whole festering season.

On my last nightshift before Xmas now, finish at 0700.

Unfortunately my next shift starts at 0700 on the 25th... I'll be working from home for those 4 shifts though, so won't be back in the office til 2nd Jan, which is bloody lovely!

As long as it doesn't kick off workwise I should be able to have a fairly nice and normal Christmas.

I'm sure it's a hard life and I admire you for it, but do you drop that line a lot in order to make people feel bad about what they have?

Was originally going to be off from end of the day on Tuesday until the 5th - but decided that I had enough stuff closed off that it could all wait until new year, so decided to take Monday and Tuesday off as well. Will be the longest I have ever been out of the office since I started work in 2007.

Not 100% sure what I am going to do with myself!

Off Christmas day and boxing day, would like to come in and work on the 27th and 28th, but I don't think anyone else will be in. In for the 29th - 31st, off the 1st and 2nd, back in on the 5th, would come in on the 3rd and 4th if I could.

Finished on the 19th - back on the 5th.

I always save holidays for Christmas as I like to have a long break and i'm not too fussed about summer holidays.

I had the same time off. It's the first time I've saved a few days to take an extended Christmas break. I think I'll be doing this every year from now on. It's made a huge difference to have more time with family and friends. It does make coming back day a bit more depressing though. The longer you're off, the harder it is to get back!
