Had a day of (admittedly alcohol-fuelled) mental contemplation on my mobility requirements.

I've come to the conclusion that so long as i have some sort of fun car for when I fancy thrashing the nuts off something, id be perfectly happy driving a Transit van day-to-day. Comfortable, practical and economical.

This might explain why my ebay watch list has a selection of 2003-2005 SWB low-roof examples.

I do like the Astra, where I used to work there was a 2.0 DTi Mk.4 that went like hell. Unfortunately it wasn't all that useful for carrying big stuff - for anything big I had to use an old LDV Convoy that was utterly crap. Working in a commercial vehicle garage almost everything was too big for the Astra.

Transit for me every time - decent to drive, and good load-haulers. And Ford should know more than anyone else how to make a good van, given the Transit has been around for decades.

IAN....In arm news.

Nothing to report as I didn't go over weight with the food shopping.

And driving from the wrong seat didn't hurt my arm earlier either.

There's a thread in GG about Lotus Carltons.

I just visited the Escort Cos forum.

He's started the same thread there too.

In today's action-packed adventure I banged my thumb shifting firewood. It's now throbbing dully. Injuries a-go-go in TT.

Do it Iva! I love the old BTCC Alfas and Volvos, such a shame I was way too young to go and see them myself!

A great night out ended with a twisted ankle as my town seems to have turned all the streetlights off resulting in me misjudging a kerb frown
