Erm what this?
It's just me making a hill out of a mole mountain. Off to see Ro sometime soon and, don't know whether you missed it, but I was wondering about the ideal car to borrow for the trip up to your part of the world. I hate getting lost but love the roads. Ro suggested borrowing Step Daughter #1's Cayman but I think it would drive itself and be no fun at all. Plus she lives in Manchester - a circuitous route, you'll agree. No.1 son, on the other hand, lives in the Valleys and has an elderly MX-5 he's prepared to lend me. It's not atcherlly an MX-5, it's a Eunuch, or whatever the MX-5 was called in Japan. I'm on record as referring to the MX-5 as the white goods of the sports car world but, like many internet pundits, I had never tried one. It's smashing. I did think I would have liked to have done the trip in a Frogeye but realised it would be quicker and more comfortable on my hands and knees.Mr Roper said:

Dicky, I have Cornish Pilsner being installed in the next few weeks. You should come and help make sure it's ok.
You're on. I'll try not to get lost going back. Is zep near you, Ro?
Re: ideal transport for the trip, No.1 son has volunteered his MX-5. I'll see how he feels about me using it in ste weather. It's not their main transport and he doesn't do the "Car as Pride & Joy" thing. It could be a goer.
I'm sure if pads not fishing we could twist his arm too.

Had 3 owners in 4 years, strange.
Unsurprising, My neighbour bought one from this chap who couldn't warrant the MPG. Neighbour had it for about 4 months then moved it on for the same reason. He was saying typically high teens per gallon which after a while got on his tits. Focus ST in crappy mpg shocker.

Are you thinking of a weekday drinky or a weekend one? I would like to come for a beer with you all, and a look at the pub when I am actually able to focus!
Weekday, GOG. As I'm away all week*, Mrs C guards the weekends jealously. *Away most of most weeks for the sake of accuracy.
