When I sample the delights of the Pencoed Travelodge, as I did last night, I use a stretch of the A48 that was clearly once three lanes. Do you young uns know about three lane roads? There was one lane in each direction with a lane in the middle used by both sides for overtaking. Yes, that's right. Genius. If ever it was a success, I don't imagine it was a success for very long.

Spent a pleasant hour this morning looking at and trying various motorbikes for size.

I don't want to spend more than £1500. Two bikes have really grabbed my imagination, and I suspect they'll very shortly grab my wallet. I just need to find another £1500.
