I've put some 20p coins in the biscuit jar as instructed.
As long as the gardener wasn't within earshot when you did it we should be okay.

That spot is reserved for my Princess Leia mug.

You have a manual mug? Can I have a tiptronic mug? If not, then one that changes colour when it gets hot.

I used to have two but the handle came off one. That was my Jurassic Park mug.
The one that's still functional is from a theme park in South Africa. I can't remember the name of it.

I have an unbreakable, unspillable thermal mug for work. I won it as being Top Todger at Volvo Penta UK.

In non mug related news, I received a call from the paintshop this morning. They've completed the wheels but have been having in-house discussions about my request to have the centre caps also coloured metallic black. Their opinion is that they would look better remaining silver.
This library picture is the wheel design in question and I'm having the anthracite sections darkened to a metallic black.

I think I'm going to stick with my initial thoughts and have them coloured, because if I decide I don't like them then new caps are under £15 each so no biggie to do some swapping about at a later date.

Roger Stowers, late of AML in both senses, hated seeing the AM wings dead level in photos. He would just about have approved of your libary pic with the wings slightly skewiff.

You'll be pleased to know.

Perhaps it's his influence on the style of the caps themselves? On the rear they have a small poky out bit (technical term) which corresponds to a cut-out on the rim, so they can only ever be fitted in one position. All well and good, but OCDists might sweat at the thought of the relationship between the cap's orientation and the position of the valve cap!

The relationship between the wings and the valve.

Another sleepless night.

Roger's influence was benign. He started in the Service Dept and finished as the in-house photographer and the Official Guide for factory tours. Lovely chap. At his funeral, the story that brought the house down was of Roger at his desk in Service reading through a bill prior to sending it to the client when he would frequently be heard to say, "Oh, this is far too much. We can't charge this! Let's just take off this, this and this. There, that's better."

And David Brown wondered why the firm never made him any money.

You may have heard this one. David Brown was asked by a drinking or golfing buddy if he could have an Aston at cost price. DB said of course, he'd be delighted, and the car was built to the chap's spec and delivered and he was charged considerably more than list price.
