Well I've got good news and bad - went home at lunchtime and the mug has indeed arrived (good), however it was contained within a helpful little plastic bag from Royal Fail apologising for breaking it (bad). I haven't opened it up but upon picking up said bag there was a pretty little tinkling sound which I'm going to stick my neck out and say isn't a standard feature frown
Bad news frown and good smile

Foreseeing this eventuality, I ordered spares. I'll be back home at the weekend and will send another.

The Quattro needs a new exhaust middle box thanks to my drive steepness, so went to enquire at a local exhaust place, no not quixfix , they quoted my £235 plus vat and 1 and a half hours work???......?

I'm no mechanic but I reckon I could do it quicker and save by buying on line.
No wonder the high street are going out of business.

Just one of those things Dicky.. it's the nature of the beast when sending fragile things thumbup I didn't have a lot of time when I was at home to look into it but from how I understood it the bag seemed to be suggesting that you can ring up Royal Fail and they will do something about it as they are admitting that it's their fault. I'll check it out properly when I get back tonight and drop you a PM smile

Stop me if you've thought of this, but will you be removing the damage causing steepness before replacing the box, won't you?

Commence: steep drive, damage box, replace box, steep drive, damage box, replace box, steep drive, damage box, replace box, ad infinitum.

Ironic, though, as you were the driving force behind this year's souvenir.*

Deep scoop, church window rear lights, narower doors and no rim around the headlight covers for a GT.

Ooh, so close.

Maybe it is a DB4 GT and just has the wrong headlight covers.

The Series V DB4 Vantage had fared headlights and is difficult to distinguish from a DB5 but wouldn't have the deep bonnet scoop.

Geek Corner: the 007 DB5 was one of the prototypes and was essentially a DB4 Series V. If you think of the gear knob with the ejector seat button, it shows four gears like a DB4. The DB5 has five gears.

Oh, lawks. I'll won't be able to think of The Halford Special in the same way ever again.
