Tell us something really trivial about your life (vol 25)

A long train of thought starting with the redness of that mug reminded me of going to the Post Office the other evening. Or at least I thought I was going to the Post Office. A corner store at the east end of Barry I pass frequently has a Post Box outside and this was enough to convince me that a Post Office counter at least lurked inside. So on my way back to the Travelodge I parked the car outside and eagerly walked in to be greeted with bewilderment. No, there is no hint of Post Officeness here, sire. Nor has there ever been.
"My apologies, my good fellow, I misconstrued the Post Box outside."
"There isn’t a Post Box outside."
"Yes there is. Look, it’s big and red and... er... a litter bin."
It’s okay, I’ve been wrong before.

Down here there's three large rectangles of grass forming the roof of the underground lair carpark. During dry weather they've all got a handful of pop-up sprinklers to keep things looking green and lovely. Today, the localised, man-made rain is doing its thing.
There's a boy of around 3 years old standing on the edge of the grass absolutely mesmerised by this. He's utterly fixated and even the presence of Dad wanting to move on is not swaying his attention.
I'm tempted to dare him to run across.
Or give him a push.

You know these big holes they keep finding in the Universe that they have trouble explaining? Well, I've just worked out that the Earth sees about 0.000000045% of the Sun's rays. What's to say that advanced civilisations haven't found ways of harnesing their star's energy and not let most of it go shooting off into Space like we do? If they did, it would appear to be a big empty space to casual observers such like us.
