I once sold myself my own shoes.
Sole buyer as well as sole trader, ay?OK, here's the story.
I used to work in the 2nd hand uniform shop at my son's school. (Yes I know.... anyway, moving on).
People used to bring bags of uniform to the house for me to put up for sale in the shop. One day one such bag was in my lounge, and I put my rather nice M&S shoes on top of it without thinking.
Roll on one week and the uniform from the bag is now in the shop and for sale, including the shoes. (The shop opens once per month).
Roll on another couple of weeks and I realise that I've lost my nice shoes.
Roll on one more week and it's time for the shop to open again and I spot some shoes for sale, very similar to the ones I'd lost. And would you believe it....they're in my size.
Bye bye one tenner, hello replacement shoes.
Took me at least a year to realise what I'd done.

I've researched Sultan's Of Swing just now and altough it was first released in 1978, the Wiki article suggests I may not have heard it until 1979, when it became a hit in the UK, 13 then
1979, what a year (give or take 12 months, it's a long time ago ) for music that was <sigh> Tubeway Army, The Jam, Ian Dury, Blondie, Kate Bush, The Skids, The Ruts The Boomtown Rats........I could go on, leave me to my youth
