Yup. Four hours driving. Step daughter #2 has her money in a heap and wants a MkII Audi TT in dark blue or black with cream or pale grey leather in nice nick with FSH, low mileage, few owners, good tyres and long MoT. I found such a car in Somerset, drove down on Manday to look at it, nice car, nice bloke selling it, good mileage, full Audi SH except the very last one done by a specialist, cam belt and water pump done, brakes replaced for the last MoT in March. To my chagrin, she didn't fall in love with it. It was dirty. Where I was looking for a good honest car, she was looking in the door shuts and at the leaves in the corners under the bonnet.

I said I'd clean it for her.

It's either that or she'll go out on her own and buy a spotless, gleaming pile of poo.
Jeez, she knows better than you ?....with all your car worldly experience.

Some people are beyond help.

It's a lovely car. And did I mention I said I'd clean it?

Silly boy - the best way is to just brush some petrol into it with a yard broom and leave it to lift out and evaporate. Just dont smoke in there for a few weeks afterwards!
As for the floor paint - use black line-ex or similar (the textured stuff they spray into pickup truck beds) for a rock-hard and very grippy surface that hides any oil drips!
This idea considered and deleted. reasons being..

1. Garage is under house. solvent vapour in house not good.
2. garage also contains electrical supply riser and multiple fuse boxes
3. And the gas boiler.
4. I like my eyebrows.
5. I remember the lessons of emsman.

In the end, white spirit used sparingly with citrus cleaner has worked. It's good enough to paint .

Just needs two days to dry now.

McLaren win a race.....THAT'S national news.

Just finished watching 3 hours of Blancpain Eundurance Series race from Silverstone.

Fascinating race almost to the end and a Mc 650S takes the win.....Yay.

61 cars started from about 10 manufacturers, brilliant stuff.

On a similar note, there's lots of crying going on over in the F1 area of PH. You can almost taste the tears coming off the screen. It's quite sad for all involved, most of all for those viewing the thread.

Looked up the F1 result about 3.30pm.

The team made a boo boo, couldn't be less interested.

Probably going to watch less F1 this year than ever before.

According to the fitness thing I've been wearing over the past 24 hours, I burn 2200 calories a day if I do very little. This is good news, It means that with the exercise I usually do each day I can eat about 1500-1700 calories worth of food and still lose the flab at the rate I want. Happy days.

I'd like to burn calories by doing very little but the trousers I have on disagree as they are too tight.

They're going in the bin anyway as there's a hole in the arse that shouldn't be .

Listening to R1 Big Gig on the red button. That Taylor Swift girl, 1/3rd of all record sales were hers last year.

Her play list reads like a self-harming teenage razorblade. She's a nice girl, but no, not on the bucket list.

Oh no, not the bloody **special** channels again?
